good on ya kid, must be hard to stand up and ask a question in front of such a huge audience. hands down the kids a winner imo, props!

and calling someone a nerd on a gaming site? pot calling the kettle black much?
Not really, being on this site makes you a nerd about as much as going on Pornhub makes you a fluffer.
I guess im a nerdy fluffer jock (espn.com). The kid is a robot! That's the only explanation for actually understanding WoW lore.

I'm not going to call the guy a nerd - I mean, he is, but whatever - but it is very probable that he has some form of high-functioning autism. Aspergers might not be it - I'm told Aspergers' "sufferers" tend to be fairly articulate - but the way he handles himself makes it seem as though he's remembering this for reasons beyond simply "I play a lot of WoW."

I thought this was going to be kick arse, instead I got a nervous geek

Is this really what "wins" anything? It's kind of sad if I am honest

Uberdork wins the match, flawless victory!

BTW, noone mentioned "BlizzCon 2010 Live Pay-Per-View stream for 39.95 USD" anywhere.
Activision cashing in again, for what others do for free...

I was once on the lolore bandwagon, until I caught a page on WoWiki and started reading, then 4 hours and almost one hundred pages later I decided to actually give it a look. As far as game related stories go, it's pretty amazing, having grown up playing WC2 and later WC3 I found it fun to learn about why things happened.

The writers screw up every once and a while, but that's to be expected, it's a constantly evolving universe people are figuratively living in, I'm surprised there hasn't been more quite honestly.

So before you lash out with "get a life nerd", go ahead and try reading into Warcraft history, it's just a fantasy story, like any other.

Some people will ridicule him, but just think of this...

Somewhere out in the multi-verse is a bunch of nerds taking account of the human story, us in our universe. The things we do, the things we value; they know of this and catalogue it in comics, films and books. Some of them even have conventions where dorky alien kids point out continuity errors in our universe.

9/11 troofer-ism: all the result of a few continuity errors since corrected. The fake moon landings, simply the result of an ill-advised retrospective nerf to space-travel. I mean if it wasn't for some geek pointing out that nothing mystical or magical ever actually happens for real in our universe(in their universe all religions are true and so is magic: atheists and natural philosophers are crazy fundamentalists and cranks), then the world will actually end in 2012.

Lucky for us, there is a geek somewhere making sure our universe is consistent. We owe it to other universes like the Warcraft one to do the same.

This is something I can whole heartedly agree with. Yay knowing lore! Because someone has to and it might as well be us! Now if you excuse me I have to ponder the implications of a alternate universe Kerrigan in the Sc2 dota..

Yes, it's definitely the entire developer's fault that one single higher up whos responsibilities have absolutely nothing to do with npc naming and is currently working on 3 different games doesn't exactly remember the correct name of one who hasn't been relevant since WCII(1996) and only then as a minor backstory throwaway name when that game currently has twenty thousand named characters with another load coming later this year.

Go ahead, memorize this list:
http://www.wowhead.com/npcs
Then we'll talk about who sucks at remembering names.

How can you blame Metzen?
After rewriting a story 100 times everyone would get confused. Warcraft lore is so inconsistent these days I'm surprised anyone still keeps up with it. After all, if even the dev team has given up on making any sense quite some time ago, why do you still bother?

Ok, people, whenever you start to feel really nerdy, just remember: You could be this guy.
When we start to feel nerdy? As if that's a bad or dangerous thing?
I'm not saying it is, but you must also recognize the importance of balancing such things with human/worldly interaction. I'm just going to guess this young man does not. Excesses of nerdiness can be a bad thing, just like an excesses of alcohol can make you pass out, or excesses of delicious nachos will make you vomit.

You can kind of hear from his tone and voice that he's not use to talking in a public setting. (or use to being in public)

Good on the guy. I hope he had a lot of fun at blizzcon, and he sounded nervous, so I'm happy for him that he was able to speak up. It's not always an easy thing to do!

The 'spergiest nerd... Well, I guess blizzard will have to kill him now. He's wearing a red shirt, it's basically his own fault.

Somebody pays waaaaay too much attention to the NPC names and dear god he looked like he's never seen the light of day.

Amusing to see someone beat the developers regardless, and loved the "what up with that?" blame pass - well played sir
