Worst Fan Base Out There

Hmm.... In terms of fans of stuff I don't mind, CoD fans can get really aggrevating, more so if they try and convince me of it's awesomeness compared to other games, and its around that point that I point out to them just how terrible the company behind it is, making me feel somewhat bad that I just ruined someone's favourite thing.

But stuff that I don't like or hate? Well, basically fans of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Katy Perry, hell most pop/crunk-core fans I usually find infuriating to listen to (thank goodness that I don't encounter many of these fans in Toronto). I guess Hipsters as well, in so much that they are all fans of something that apparently I and everyone around me has never heard of. Not just Twilight, but fans of Twilight related stuff such as Vampire Diaries, Red Riding Hood, Beastly, basically just those "modern"retakes on fairytales where the actual dark and disturbing stuff is instead replaced with "Im dark because I brood" stuff are a pain in the ass, but again I dont see too much of them.

I think the worst fanbase of all though is probably the Nintendo fanbase. I can sort of get the idea that because they were one of the few to bring gaming where it is today and because there was a time they actually did several different things that they would receive som sort of following, but these days it boggles my mind how Nintendo fans can say the stuff they say without thinking back and realising that Nintendo is doing the exact same stuff they usually complain about, and usually does it in a worse way than anyone else.

It's probably the most obnoxious yaoi fanbase for anything ever. And 90% of them are weaboos, too.

*clenches fists* This or Kingdom Hearts. We get it, you think the characters should be gay and that any female characters should die in a fire. That doesn't mean you have to be insanely rabid about it.

Also, the furry fandom associated with Sonic the Hedgehog. I don't have any opinion on normal furries, but the majority of the furry stuff I've seen from Sonic has been really, really freaking creepy. I'm not talking about the Sonichus of the world, I'm talking just the standard fans.

Minecraft fans can be pretty unpleasable sometimes.

Fans of French culture really get on my nerves; I grew up speaking (Quebecois) French, and it always irritates me when people go on about how it's the most beautiful language out there. Quebecois French is a fairly decent language/dialect, but France French sounds like they're trying to hold in a sneeze or an orgasm whenever they open their mouths. Give me sexy Russian any day of the week (good, crisp, clear Russian spoken by a person with class, not that gutter mafia-Russian spoken by street thugs).

Apple fans are kind of irritating. I've tried Macs, and I don't find them all that user-friendly. Maybe that's just because I'm not used to them... but doesn't the need to get used to them defeat the point of user-friendliness? Then again, I'm biased by laziness, so there. iPod lovers are a subcategory worth mentioning; I only ever had a single iPod, and it provided me with a singularly irritating experience. Since then, it's only non-Apple products for me.

The Fallout fanbase is in a state of constant war that has little hope of changing, ironically enough. You either have the veteran fans who insult Bethesda for committing the cardinal sin of making a first-person, semi-real time game, or you have the people who dismiss the older games out of hand simply because they're old. The veteran fans are worse, in my opinion, probably because they've been engaging in flame wars for ten years now and they've gotten really good at it.

If you ever do come across one of the people who think Fallout 3 is the worst Fallout game ever just show them this.


Usually shuts them up pretty quickly. This my friends would have been the last Fallout game if Bethesda hadn't come along.

I'd have to go with CoD, Final Fantasy and Zelda. CoD for straight up ignorance, and uncalled for verbal harrassment. Final Fantasy and Zelda because both of them are very lucky to be given all they have but constantly complain (Although FF fanboys often do have the right) but Zelda fanboys bitched to have an OoT remake for years, they finally get it and ***** they are making it, just... ughgghh?

Zelda is one of my favourite series of all time, but the idea of a remake pissed me off. OOT was great, the new game feels lifeless in comparison.

I would probably say that Oakland Raiders fans are the worst.
For those of you who do not know American Football you wouldn't know why, but they are just the most rude fanbase that I have ever seen.

5. Anime - Isn't the fact that they willingly watch that crap bad enough? Okay, some anime fans are fine but I'm talking about the "KAWAII DESU NANI YAOI BAKA!" type of pocky stuffing, cat ear wearing jerks that clog up the deviantART front page like clockwork.

We actually have a word for those people: weaboos. And yes, it pisses me off to be lumped in with those people when I tell people I like anime.


OT: Chicago Cubs fans are annoying as all hell. Their team has literally gone over 100 years without winning a world series, and they still support them like they're "teh best team evar!" You know your team is pathetic when your announcer is more iconic than the actual team.

EDIT: Oh, and people who defend Duke Nukem Forever. They claim that all of the game's flaws are throwbacks to the old school games. I'm sorry, I wasn't aware we were still living in 1998!

Anyways, I'm not very fond of Apple fanboys. Apple products are not the pinnacle of technology. It's regular technology in pretty packaging.

In all seriousness though, Queen and Lady Gaga fans who seem to get the idea that I'm completely brain dead and have no taste in music. I like lots of music, just not those two.
Queen especially annoy me, yes Freddie Mercury was an amazing frontman but none of their songs do it for me. People still persist to try to force me to like them and then play all their songs while grinning creepily at me.

And yeah Twilight and CoD of course.

In response to the football/soccer comments, we're not all bad. Me and my dad have gone all my life to football matches and it's generally a nice, fun, family friendly atmosphere. I've seen a few fans being escorted out by the police but this is such a small minority. The media always gives so much coverage and attention to the small minority of the dickhead fans who ruin it for the rest of us.
Love the Mitchell and Webb video by the way, never really understood why I do that. I'll come home from a match and the conversation will go something like,

Mum: How was it?
Me: We won 2-0!
Mum: No you didn't, you don't play for them.

The Sonic fanbase seems to be the worst, every fanbase has negative elements but the Sonic guys are a whole other level. I'm sure there are plenty of Sonic fans who aren't jabbering tards and they have my sympathy for being associated with that cesspool of a fanbase.
