Fable 3.

I found II better than I, heathen that I am (though I guess the villain had a good voice actor in I)- III is just boring as hell. Worst thing is they made it so you could only convey whatsit to one NPC at a time, and you couldn't really choose what you wanted to do.
Of course, if you didn't care for that aspect anyway it makes no difference...

OH, and the weapon system was worse. It didn't make anyone origional, it made them look up what their weapons would change into then they chose that path.

Uh, well, at least they got a bunch of familiar vociactors, and the villain sounded evil in a stereotypical way.

I would mention the FF sequels, but I haven't played any of them in the main series...

Yeah, I found it pretty interesting and it was kinda original too. Much better than stuffing text in my face.
I hate to badmouth mass effect but their pages upon pages of information about eezo matter less then the few sentences the chozo left. Prime's messages were more memorable.
I personally love the primary data entries in Mass Effect (the secondary entries without VO less so, but I still read the interesting ones), they weren't necessary or required but by taking the time to listen to them I was drawn even further into the Mass Effect universe.

The little droid fella (can't remember his designation) was integral to the sub plot... You know, the whole mystery of Revans whereabouts?

Canderous/Mandalore was again a good plot driven character. Revan had made him leader of the Mandalorians to help strengthen the republic against the impending sith empire invasion.

Fair enough these are your opinions, but if find them slightly absurd reasons for disliking a game so intensely. Also, remember that lots of games use returning characters from previous games that are not the main character.

Had you said.... 'It was launched unfinished' I would have agreed with you because funnily enough there were massive plotholes and entire sections on the game disc which were innaccesible. Like the HK droid factory or the fate of....erm... YOUR ENTIRE FUCKING TEAM?

EDIT: However, I do agree that the first mission was VEEERY boring

OT: DMC 2 and the Dante section of 4... Most likely the reboot as well.

Hmmm.... Red Alert 3 was a mockery of the C&C franchise along side C&C4 Tiberium Twilight

KotOR 2 is pretty bad.

Warhammer 40K Dawn of Ware II, though not bad in its own right, is no where near as good as Dawn of War or Company of Heroes.

Stuntman: Ignition
Not horrid but the original was wonderful, it was difficult, but not ridiculous, the physics were tight, as were the controls, and it felt realistic.
The sequel felt like a cartoon version of the first, the physics felt very loose and unrealistic. In the original the movies you worked on felt like honorary send offs to to great movies. the sequel made them feel like spoofs of movies.
I dunno maybe I'm isolated on this one, but it just wasn't as good to me, and I don't see a new one, as good as the original coming out.

Pretty much most Sonic games after the Adventure series.
Actually I enjoyed Sonic Riders. It was pretty fun gameplay and nice board designs. I ignored the story ENTIRELY though.

Which brings me to my worst sequel: Sonic Riders Zero Gravity. I rented it thinking that since I liked the original that it would be just as/more fun than the original. I know Sonic games are usually awful, but that was down right horrid. I stopped playing the day I rented it, despite my usual "get my money's worth" thing.

I was recently told by another student in my dorm that pokemon games arent "true sequels" because they are never the same zone and im having a tough time to argue that point while yes they arent in the same area but you couldnt establish some of the evolution without prior exsistance of the earlier games.
Even though there are recurring characters who talk about the events of the previous games in them? What qualifies a game to being called a sequel to this other student, I wonder.

Fable 2 and 3 I fucking loved Fable and everything it felt it could achieve. And then Fable 2 and 3 totally failed to achieve anything, the stories were just terrible and they decided to focus on the random crap we accepted as a novelty in the first game like the painful humor and focus on random npcs. WHY MOLYNEUX WHY

Manhunt 2 has been disappointing (I've yet to complete the story though), maybe it's because brutally killing people in a Video Game isn't as entertaining as it once was?

Knights of the Old Republic 2

Three reasons I hated it

1. Holy shit, the beginning mission. I mean. Goddamn. It took like five hours to get off of a fucking space ship. Probably the most boring opening mission ever, but it was like my headache went away when I finally left.

2. What? The next part is even worse. From what I remember, it was some dark Corasaunt type planet, but it was boring. Jesus, by the third hour in the first one it had some serious steam. You had a lightsaber, and you could use the force. Incredible.

3. Re-using some of the original characters. They had the mercenary with white hair, and that little service droid. Come on. That's so unoriginal. Use your own characters.
ill give you #1... i tried playing the game again like a year ago and couldnt remember how to leave the first ROOM. and i recall just how insanely difficult it is to leave that ship.

but i liked the rest of the game. still wasnt nearly as good as the first one, though

Yeah ill have to agree with the silent hill franchise. The room's gameplay was different because it was originally meant to be a different game but I think they did alright, especially elaborating on the plot from SH2.

Homecoming however was just another shoot em up survival horror piece of crap like resident evil (which also started out good). And no offense to the americans on the forum but the audience are bored with the same old crap that their familiar with which is why they look overseas for new ideas but due to the mainstream public not willing to venture into unfamiliar territory & making up most of the profit contributors the big bosses have it watered down to the same old crap the american audience (& eventually the global audience) are sick of, defeating the purpose of looking abroard in the first place.

This was evident in the (Now regarded unofficial)sequel to the original metal gear on the NES where the first revolutionised the idea of stealth its sequel, snakes revenge, was just another shoot em like everything else on the shelves at that time. F*** I hate mainstream!

Other M.

Metroid is dead.
I agree with the first part, disagree with the second. I knew Other M was going to be bad the moment I found out it wasn't going in an FPS style.
