I usually wait until they are cheaper...and the few games I bought for that price were great?for example, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

I was paradigm shifting sometime, but I always just had to hit auto attack after if I wasn't healing and I would be just as successful as someone who planned out what they were going to do. Also just to clarify, the worst part of FF13 isn't any of that. That would simply make it a 2/10 in my mind. The thing that brings it down to the lowliest levels of video game hell is making me read as an excuse to not explain things in your game. The game doesn't even ease you into it, it just throws you in and expects you to read it. That is pure lazy. Final Fantasy 13 easily.
I tried to like it, I really did - but between the completely linear levels, terribly told story (the story by itself could be decent but the way its presented is horribly paced, and the way the characters act is completely idiotic, on top of the replacement of character's emotional development with stupid melodrama), and an auto-pilot battle system (yeah, yeah, I know paradigm shifts - but even at its best I still felt like I was pretty much on auto-pilot for most the game).
I don't think I've ever regretted buying and investing so much time in a game before.
