Well, that's a note to to give to myself a little bit: Make room for better pony music... (Although, I don't thing 4 or 5 are going to be the songs that will be taken out in the process...)
For the Mando one, the drop is just amazingly thin, and the Party Rock parody is...uh...interesting. I hate the instrumental with all my might to a point where I hate hearing it even though I love the fan VA's.
Eh... I had a hard time adjusting to the instrumental, at first... I kinda wished it sounded more like the original instrumental... But, then again, I don't listen to the original Party Rock Anthem as much as some of the other songs from LMFAO... like "Sorry For Party Rocking"... (or the Alex S. mashup of "Party Rock Anthem"... or the Tombstone mashup of "Sorry For Party Rocking"...)
TheEarthSheep said:
Mando's dupstep is generic as hell, but I wouldn't call it "the worst music ever" or even particularly bad, just not notable for anything.
Well... it's a "good thing" I don't listen to Mando's dubstep as much, then... I guess... (Yay?)

The first that comes to mind is "Love Shack", which is just repugnant.

Also, "The Laughing Gnome" by David Bowie. Almost everything Bowie did in the following decade was awesome, but this first song he released, novelty though it may be, is terrible.
Hee-hee. I wonder if I'm the only Bowie fan ever to actually like that song.
Haha! But WHY?

I can´t remember where I read it, but I think for one of his tours Bowie let his fans vote online for which songs they wanted him to play, and "The Laughing Gnome" got more votes than any other by a long way. Bowie did not play the song.

On the other hand, I think it´s a shame he´s so embarassed about his earliest work. Personally I really like his first album.
For my birthday my brother gave me a collection of his oldest stuff, and it was great.

About the Gnome: It's ot a nice enough melody, and the gnome sounds cute.

Are we just talking this week? Because I've heard a lot of terrible stuff. Current number one on my list is 'Let Her Go'. Yet it's number one in many countries around the world. But it just felt so fake and lacking in any real substance to me.

So I tried to search on the Internet and find other people who hated it as much as me but did not have any luck. Until I came across this gem from a former band mate no less - "The band broke up in 2009, citing Rosenberg as being "...a bit of a tit for singing in a ridiculous mock foreign accent" as the reason for the split."

This guy probably dissects what annoys me about it better -
[link]http://www.thevine.com.au/music/news/number-ones-passenger-let-her-go/[/link]

TL;DR - It's incredibly average and only stands out to people against the boatloads of crap they normally listen to.
To be honest the boat load of crap that pumped into the airwaves this is one of the better ones. Its generic and kinda dull but at least he plays his own instrument and sings with that irritating autotone thing

Did we all forget about Nicki Minaj. Her song, Stupid Hoe, is the worst piece of shit to ever grace my ears. All of her songs are the epitome of shit.

Luckily, nobody will give a shit about her in a couple of years. The bad news is that we will get another person just like her. If you seriously need an explanation as to why her songs suck, well then just chop off your ears. You have lost the right to listen to music.
I would like to point out that she also considers "boobs boobs boobs boobs lotta boobs" to be good song writing.

OT: Anything Will.i.am has made recently; "Scream & Shout", "#thatPOWER" (yes, the song's title contains a Twitter hashtag), and pretty much anything else on his album #willpower (the album name also contains a hashtag. Great). Though the worst thing to come out of any of these things was the "Scream & Shout" remix.

The previously mentioned "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke is a contender for the most musically boring pop song of 2013. If you pay close attention to the instrumentation, you will notice that absolutely NOTHING is going on. And, as many critics have pointed out, it also might be the most rapey-sounding song this year as well. Both versions of the video are shit, too.

I can think of three
The "I love you like circular reasoning" song.
That awful "I crashed my car into a bridge" song. Fucking awful.
Then the god awful "Merry Christmas, merry Christmas, merry Christmas" song by the Waitresses. I had a seasonal job at a department where that song was one of the five that played in a loop. That's excessively terrible for the Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian war.

Nelly Furtado, perhaps? Only artist I know with a song titled that, at least.

As for myself, I've heard plenty of songs I don't like and plenty I think are just bad, but what I think takes the cake is and always will be "Freaxxx" by BrokeNCYDE.

I saw them live once. They opened for a couple other bands (Haste the Day, Senses Fail and Hollywood Undead).
When they went on, they asked who was there to see them. Like two people raised their hands.
It was about what you'd expect. The pig was even there. The guy in the suit was supposedly high out of his mind.

That sounds horrifying. Truly you're a stronger person than I to have survived such an event.

I'm kinda interested in how they take all of the extreme criticism aimed at them, actually. Not enough to try sifting through the internet to find anything, of course, but they've been around for a little while so I can't fault their apparent passion for what they do.

All I can say is..... I'm so, so sorry.
First of all, someone actually did post that on the first page. Second, I don't understand the hate for that song. I just heard it for the first time, and honestly I had a pretty good time with it, in a Punk sort of way. It was very Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
If you like it, ok I guess, but myself and most others find the singing to be terrible and every ounce of the lyrics and video to encapsulate the kind of tryhard CoD kiddies that infect so much of our culture.

Also I saw no such post on the first page and I still don't. Either I'm completely blind or it was deleted at some point.

We just talked about the worst movies, so what about the worst songs? The worst song I've heard is this song called "Turn off The Lights" but I don't know the artist unfortunetly.
I know you like Prince as well, so: what do you think is the worst Prince song? Graffiti Bridge maybe, because it sounds like a bad Disney soundtrack?
The Human Body from Emancipation is fucking horrible. If you haven't heard it you shouldn't. It's him singing in a falsetto voice with a techno beat and moaning sounds. It's unbearable.
Then you´ll be horrified to know that I really enjoy "The Human Body"! To be fair I recognise that it´s not "good" strictly speaking, but I find his falsetto to be quite mesmerizing, and the beat´s addictive for me.

I don´t think I can say what Prince´s worst song is. There are songs which are any combination of bad, boring and unecessary ("Jughead", "New Power Generation II", "P Control", "Love Like Jazz", "Baby Knows", "Hot Wit U", "Push it Up" etc.), but I can´t think of any songs which are actively offensive enough for me to single out.
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE P CONTROL?!?! That song never fails to put a smile on my face. And I fucking despise Jughead. And Baby Knows is just really bland. But so was most of that album.
I think I should clarify. I do like "P Control" as a stand-alone song. However in the context of the album I think it was an unnecessary addition, and "The Gold Experience" should have begun with "Endorphinmachine" as its opener. Furthermore if Prince absolutely HAD to include one of his rap songs on that record, personally I´d have gone for "Pope" and put "P Control" on "The Hits".

I disagree that "Rave" was a mostly bland album. For me it´s a lot like "Graffiti Bridge" in the sense that you´ve got a 70 minute slog which, with the removal of all the filler, can be edited down to a far better and more streamlined 35-45 minute album. Unlike "GB", "Rave" lacks any truly brilliant songs like "The Question of U" and "Joy in Repetition" which make it stand out. Even so, had Prince released it with a much shorter tracklist which only includes the good songs (for example "Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic", "The Greatest Romance That´s Ever Been Sold", "Tangerine", "So Far, So Pleased", "The Sun, The Moon and Stars", "Man O´War", "I Love U, but Don´t Trust U Anymore", "Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do" and "Prettyman" - total of about 40 minutes), then it´d probably be remembered with a lot more fondness by the fans.

I honestly think Prince´s biggest problem in the 90s was his inability to enact quality-control on his albums. Almost every record of his which I own from the last 23 years could have been better if he´d just used his head and realised that when it comes to his songs, quality is more important than quantity. As I said, the excessive use of filler ruined both "GB" and "Rave", and also for me "D&P", "Gold" and "New Power Soul" would all benefit from losing two or three tracks each. "Symbol" is a bit odd because I find it to be too long and in need of cutting down, but at the same time I can´t put my finger on any one track that´s notably lacking and justifiably deletable. "Emancipation" kind of gets a free pass because its stupid length and breadth is the whole point. I think "Come", my favourite from the 90s albums I own, is the only one not guilty of using filler, which is a bit ironic considering that the album itself was SUPPOSED to be filler just to fulfill the contract with WB.

God, this is the second time I´ve talked to you about Prince on this site and once again I´ve written more than I planned!

I never cared much for Come besides the title track. D&P could've done without "Jughead" and "Strollin." And "Symbol" has a damn good tracklist besides "Sweet Baby" and the second half of "Love 2 The 9's." I tried to listen to "New Power Soul" and I fell asleep at "Come On." "Gold" and "GB" are his two best 90's albums IMO.

Whether you are religious or not, I think we can all agree that this song is awful. It is called "Christian Side Hug' which is a rap trying to convince people that regular hugs are too close to actual sex and thus evil.

Escapist, I am truly shocked. Either I have not read the entire thread thoroughly enough (entirely possible as it is pretty late where I am), or someone forgot to mention Rebecca Black. XD

That....

...

"Song"

is my number one worst song of all time.

You know, that one about that day of the week that I dare not speak of directly in this context.

Captcha: face the music - How appropriate. :p

Tossed the word "Shit" into Last.fm one day - and this is what the search produced for me:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09upNxTBnv8

On another note, here's a pretty awful song by a band that I actually like. I've tried to listen to it the whole way through, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Every time it comes on my iPod I immediately hit the skip button.

"Nemo" by Gobble Gobble.

This isn't an actual song by them, this is just a promo that was broadcast on television as part of an ARG of sorts to reveal their new album. Of course, actual Boards of Canada music can be quite ambient, but it's super relaxing. There's a snippet of a song in there, but I'm not sure whether it's sampled from something else they've done or made originally for the ad soundtrack.

OT: This comes to mind.

Hilarious and entertaining, for sure. There are some decent if generic riffs buried in this, but the rest of it is so annoying that it destroys any other value the music possesses.

I liked the albums "Rage" and "Outlawed" by Attila, back when they were fun and the lead singer wasn't stroking his ego and there were more riffs and sweet vocals, now their music isn't fun anymore and it makes me sad.

Oh, and by the way, I feel like taking the piss out of my own fandom's music for some reason, so let's dump a few more turds out there:

You judge which is most shite.
Ahhh... brony music. Music mostly made by people who aren't good enough to get into the indie or mainstream scene so they make songs about ponies. The only "famous" brony musician I like is SoGreatAndPowerful, and I still think that he'd to much better if he just moved away and did some original work.

OT: I'm going to give another vote for "I whip my hair back and forth".
