FUCKING RIGHT IT WAS. I dont know what the hell happened while I was strapped into that contraption but it was kinky.

But uh, Doom 3 for me. If Betruger wanted to kill me why not shut me off in a room and endlessly teleport shit at me.

Or maybe HAWX when the mercenary company tried to fuck over the world.

Pretty much the entire plot of Chrono Cross.
I will try to sum up for the uneducated, trying to avoid spoilers:

The heroes of Chrono Trigger screwed stuff up, and the cast of Cross need to fix it. But the only way to do that is by screwing more stuff up, which can only be fixed by screwing up even more, et cetera, et cetera. It kinda makes your head hurt after a while.
And then the ending ("Congratulations! You managed to stall the apocalypse by a few years, but it's still going to happen!") is a bit of a downer.

I'm going to go WAYYYY back in time and say Sonic Adventure 2.

"Sonic is in a military plane in capitivy? Why? Wait, what, he's a black hedgehog? THE ARMY THINKS HE'S SHADOW????"

(Don't forget that SA2 takes place in the same city that Sonic had JUST saved in SA1)

the answer there is that sega keeps thinking sonic is final fantasy combined with metal gear solid in terms is screwy plots

the most *gyah* moment for me is when a game tells me to look after a person the whole game, hours of my lifetime i won't get back, and then it resolves with a "yo, bro, i'm da boss, screwed y'all, didn't i?" or just plain dies as part of the plot. more than once i've caught myself thinking "ok, so all this incredibly bad plot could've been resolved by my first insinct of killing that unlikeable character, or just ignoring him?

fable, kotor2, red faction 2 to name but a few.

I still dont really get how thats a bad line or plot point, I mean they were indeed sinking cities with a giant worm, how does that really stand that much out from most video game wackyness? I mean in ffx they are attacking cities with a giant creature that is actualy someone who might or might not be made up and your main char is a figment of its imagination... or something, I dont remember much of that game

Oh, and I just HAVE to mention the plot of Persona 3's "The Answer."
The whole thing is ridiculous.


What? Nyx wasn't evil? Then what the hell was the point of the main character sacrificing his life to seal her away? And why was she going to destroy humanity in the first place?
...Oh, so Erebus is the REAL evil one? ...BULLSH*T.

I'm playing KOTOR now (I knew the spoiler before now), and so far I can only vaguely see how I'm the bad guy. My circumstances for being where I was at the beginning are pretty vague, but other than that there's no big evidence I can see. What I mean is that I don't think someone with no outside knowledge could know that plot point where I am in the story. Maybe it's well-explained, but I dunno.

I personally thought that it was one of the most skillfully implemented plot twists I've ever seen in a game. There's plenty of foreshadowing if you look back closely enough (some of the things the council says, the fact that you are able to master Jedi training so quickly, among other things), and yet it still surprised me when the big reveal was pulled.

This. I thought this games story beat all star wars combined

Lol. I wasn't really playing Eternal Sonata for plot. I was playing to calm myself down after rage quitting Dead Rising (frickin' bull crap piece of). Anyway, yeah, I just watch the pretty pictures and enjoy the music. XD

The entire family is borked.

Yes, you should. That's Gabriel, one of your two companions in the prologue level (think snow)

By the way, the other is Logan, the protagonist of the first Rainbow 6: Vegas.

Gabe's a Rainbow operative who went rogue.

These made perfect sense to me. I think everyone saw Kriea being evil a mile off. Especially at the cutscene with the Sith triumvate where she was stripped of her power.
And you being revan? the clues were there, you just had to look for them

And also, i have never played a game where the story didnt make sense to me.

The ACTUAL end of Eternal Darkness when you see that you were playing right into Mantorok's....hands? The player was just a tool for it to kill off the other major deities so it was super powerful again. Really nice.

i found that was a really good plot twist i kinda guessed some thing like that was going to happen

Fucking Atlas is Fontaine?!?!?! That shit took me by surprise.

i thought that it was a wtf moment.. it was really well pulled off though
erm wierdest plot twist in a game.... also in bioshock were it turns out that your not a real person, just a sleeper cell put into the real world for fontaine to call back to rapture if anything happened to him that made me go :0 im not a real person god damn you heres me thinking i crash landed here on accident

Yeah, that whole game is a trip, considering that Jack is only like 2 years old?!?!?! Jesus Christ, he is the most badass 2 year old I have ever seen. EVAR!
