aaaaaaand how many average joes know how to properly pirate games?Serris said:Azaraxzealot said:hey, it's basically a more polished version of the game for a dollar.Pugiron said:Adding a touch of the Microsoft evil, XBOX Douchiness, and Tom Goldman "pretend this badness is good!" flavor to the Minecraft world to make it slimey and nasty!
can anyone say "Good deal"?
if i can get basically the same game for cheaper, then why the fuck not? don't be pissed just because an indie developer is making your precious "PC exclusive" consolized
plus, you won't have to pay monthly for it once Minecraft actually gets finished. so.... why not buy this?
a pirated game is basically a more userfriendly version (no drm) of a game for free.
can you say "good deal"?
and the indie developer is developing it for different platforms as we speak. please open google before saying things like that.
And I think people have to realize that this is exactly why companies are usually pretty hush-hush about development while it's in progress. You're breaking new ground, doing all the trial-and-error, and someone can watch what you're doing carefully... and then come along with an idea that's just different enough to float, taking the best of your trial (without all the error) and tack on other features with the time and money they've saved on the R&D.Tom Goldman said:After looking into FortressCraft past its exterior, I can say that it might be a game Minecraft fans should look forward to, rather than criticize based on its similarities.
Well if you are a smart business person this would make more than enough sense.Nero Haven said:Depends. Would you want to port to a console you have no interest in to get more money when you have so much money you have no idea what to do with it all?BioHazardMan said:That's like saying gee, I've made 50 million dollars, so why in the hell would I want to make 100 million?
That logic, doesn't make sense.
Still don't think a console version would sell as well as the PC version anyways. What makes you think he'd make double what he has just by putting it on xbox? My xbox-only friends all hate minecraft, even after playing it.
Really?Ultratwinkie said:Oh wow it rips off TWO GAMES.

Fortress Craft.
Look up the features, they are shamelessly cloned.
This guy speaks the truth.Kayar13 said:Oh, come on Goldman. Minecraft fans should look FORWARD to someone ripping off the game we already love? They're just jumping on the Minecraft bandwagon for the money. I suppose you'd support Microsoft making a game titled "Legend of Belda" in which a pointy-eared kid in a green tunic slew a pig and saved a princess and found four golden glowing squares of power too, right? This greed in the industry is exactly what we should be ignoring and not buying into. Indie developers should focus on making new, creative, innovative game experiences like Notch already did with Minecraft, not blatantly copying each other for profit.
Yeah, I mean, imagine Xerox in an alternate reality holding both Apple's and Microsoft's market, defining personal computers, creating the internet (Xerox's XNS protocol suite was a precursor to the Internet Protocol), changing the course of history forever...Richard Allen said:Agreed. But to defend apple and ms just a bit, xerox was sitting on it for years and told the group that came up with it, that is was stupid.
