Your favorite way to kill guards.

Sweet Christ I swear I have filled at least a couple haystacks with a few hundred bodies each. Someone probably vomited after trying to feed their horses.

In Assassin's creed I give them a fair shot. First, disarm then dispose of thier weapon. Next, a fist fight. Finally, hidden blade to the neck of the unconcious guard. Fun right?

I like to just walk past two guards and shoot them in the head and say, "Fuck off."

I don't like to kill the guards. Instead,I walk up to them, convince them I'm their friend, tell them Caesars Legion sucks, and steal their stuff.

...which I use to kill them when I come back.

Assassin's Creed 2, shooting them in the face with a gun they've never heard of before, and probably think runs on witchcraft.

I love how Brotherhood has incorporated the gun into some counters
basically Ezio just decides that sticking someone ain't enough, gotta finish them off with a point-blank "whoa what the WOW awesome bro" shot (okay maybe the high five and fist pump afterwards is a bit much but okay it's whatever)

Depends on the game really.
For something such as Mount&Blade I favour a Two hander while on foot... charge me horsie, I dare ya!!!
FPS: Stealth as close to the target as possible and, either use a silent weapon (knife, pistol, tranq gun, etc) or wither them down with a few bursts of an assault rifle (military doctrine, get close, use surprise, no one left alive).
When defending I like to use range, not a sniper rifle, just an assault to surpress and pick a few off at a time... or a bow with a sword and shield in reserve.

Physics engine. Push em off a clif down the stairs out the window off the rooftop. Or the sweetest kill of all. Crush them under the elevator on your way back down. I will also accept trash compactor, aintlion (oh sweet aintlion rape) any other wildlife/npc or Patsy. Patsy was awsome too. Im a fear junkie, I need to hear them scream, I need to know they suffer. I need to kill them, bring them back and kill them again!

My new favorite way is shooting a flail grenade around a goons legs, kicking him and then shooting a flare into his face just before he lands in exposed power cables.

I bloody love environmental kills, throwing off buildings, into water, anything utilizing my surroundings

For me, one of my favorite kill methods, particularly in Assassin's Creed games, is to throw them off of tall buildings or into water. For FPS games,I really enjoy sniping them from a distance and then pick them off one by one as the examine the corpse(s) of their comrades.

That's basically me... ninja'd by the OP. I once spent half an hour sniping all the guards in the level in Hitman: Blood Money at one as they all ran to one place.

I prefer to not kill the guards, it's always nicer when I can just get them to kill something for me, or trick something else into killing them.

Otherwise, I prefer methods that begin with a piece of metal, and end with a hole in their skull shaped like that piece of metal.

the best is in Metal Gear Solid with the Stealth camo. running around on something that makes the guards say "what was that noise" and then punching them when they get close. the all time best is in MGS2 when you sneak past the Marines. If you have stealth and roll into one of the corners, they all fall like dominoes, get up confused, and go back to standing at attention; Or MGS1, placing C4 on guards while they're still walking; or MGS3 throwing random live animals at guards; or MGS4 SUNLIGHT!!!
