The Anglo-Zanzibar War in 1896. 38 minutes of pure pwnage.

A close second would be the Winter War. Don't mess with Finland.
The Finnish did kick some serious ass in WW2 against the Russians.

The Irish War of Independence also known as the Anglo-Irish War or Tan War was a guerrilla war mounted against the British government in Ireland by the Irish Republican Army (IRA). It began in January 1919, following the Irish Republic's declaration of independence, and ended with a truce in July 1921. The subsequent negotiations led to the Anglo-Irish Treaty, which ended British rule in most of Ireland and established the Irish Free State. However, six northern counties would remain under British rule.

The IRA that fought in this conflict is often referred to as the Old IRA to distinguish it from later organizations that used the same name.

World War Z

out of seriousness, probably Desert Storm 2 because I like how we Americans call in overwhelming support in the form of various munitions dropped from planes and guided missiles from helicopters buzzing around.
My all time favorite is the rocket propelled band of C4 they used to kill a sniper because we were too lazy to reclear 9 city blocks. Just blow em up, that'll learn him good.

American Revolution, because it is one of the ultimate underdog stories.
If I can turn down my English-jingoism for a moment I'll have to Agree with you on that one.

The American War of Independence was the pretty much the only significant war that Britain lost in the modern era (post-renaissance) and I have to admit it was one of those amazing underdog victories and led to a country and system of government that even our English parliament has adopted a lot from.

Particularly enshrining the Right to Freedom of speech. Now that is something really special.
So no ones gonna acknowledge that if it weren't for the French help the Americans would have lost, aren't you even gonna mention that the French invented democracy as we know it after the French revolution (inspired by the Americans but still, they help out there.
France did "help" in the war, but that doesn't mean they "won the fight for them" if that is what you are implying as French troops were under the command of George Washington. The situation was already well against our forces by the time France joined in spoiling for a fight where American colonies was just a small part of a larger Franco-British colonial conflict that was being fought all over the world from India to the West Indies.

Bottom line: We lost to the Yanks, not the bloody Frogs!

I don't have a favorite war because I'm not a sick fuck. The war that grossly interested me was World War 1 because of how that had the most horrific fighting the world will ever know. Over 3 percent of the german population was killed and that includes 4,000,000 people. And the ones who madeit out almost all went crazy. Most of the german army didn't know what the war was about.

Edit: sorry, I meant 4,000,000 soldiers.

The American civil war had superior tactics for it's time, WWI came later and it still used trench warfare.

Thank you for understanding english person. Other guy, the french did not create democracy the Romans did. Also the french did not openly step into fight until after the yankies had grasped the upperhand in the war.

The Cold War. No one died.
not true. planty of people died via the proxy wars.

i would have to say my favorite war would be the American Revolution, American Civil War, and Vietnam.

the "Rev" i enjoy reading about how close we came to losing that. the "Red Coats" were tough, but we beat'em with tactics, guerrilla warfare, and a little help from some european allies.

the civil war was an excruciatingly bloody war with a ton of deception behind the real reasons it was fought. Antidem was far bloodier than D-Day or any other battle in which the US fought.

Vietnam was a fascinating war thanks to the fact that it inspired a whole different culture and way of thinking into the American way of life. it was truly the first well documented times when the civilian population against the government.
