Portal 2. A level of perfection that has not been matched by any game this whole year. Every nanosecond of this game is pure gold.

With better thought out boss battles, DXHR probably would of been up there, but that and the Witcher 2 are a distant second to Portal 2. Valve at their absolute best imo.

That may change after No-timetodoanythingotherthangame-vember, but I can't see anything realistically topping Portal 2.

Is it bad if I say I haven't bought any new games in 2011? There's just so many titles out there I'm not interested in.

Probably going to be either Skyward Sword or Modern Warfare 3. I'd put Skyrim too, but I want to wait until I get a good desktop PC to play it on.

Now of those games

Battlefield 3's single player is rubbish, it's out
MW3 is just not gonna make the cut, people are so tired of the franchise
Deus Ex's boss fights are probably gonna loose it a shot
Dark Souls isn't accessible enough to be game of the year
Gears 3 was just meh


That leaves:

Portal 2
Uncharted 3
Assassin's Creed
Skyrim

My money is on Uncharted 3. Naughty Dog does a fantastic job with that series and it really shows, it's really the PS3's Halo, if Halo were good.

As of right now, its either Gears 3 or Deus ex. I'm leaning more towards Deus Ex though. Also I'll know as soon as Skyrim and Zelda come out, as those are my next two big games.

I dislike the lack of Skyrim answers. I have only bought 1 game this year, that was Crysis 2 and it sucked. I have played Black Ops pretty much exclusively this year so I am looking forward to the change-up with Skyrim.

Even if it is exactly the same as Oblivion it will still get my GOTY vote.

First of Skyrim looks very bland and uninspired. its not GOTY material. game is overhype as hell

second crysis 2 doesnot suck. it just no where near masterpiece crysis 1 was but still great game

For me it was a toss up between L.A. Noire and Mortal Kombat. As for now it is Arkham City, based on what I've played (and apparently I'm part of the 1% of gamers who didn't really like Deus Ex: HR much).

I expect Saints Row The Third will steal my heart by the year's end, though.

Even though it was technically released a long time ago, the real, full version is only being released this month, so I'm gonna have to say minecraft. I don't think any game has commanded such a strong host of pop culture references and has caused so many hours of precious time to be wasted by smashing and re-arranging blocks.
