Wow... My name is now Evil Stoner Monkey. Whelp... I'm never gonna be able to get a job again. I don't even like this name. I was pegged with the nickname and started using as my online alias about a decade ago because I couldn't think of anything better. I only stick with it because there are still a few people out and about online who only know me by this name.

People would laugh at me every time I introduced myself :(
HA! That's brilliant!

OT: If I only go by the first part I'll be fine. It's the "h8er" part that worries me.

I planned ahead for this very day. Real name=user name. I save my creative juices for my novel.

... If people start calling me Crystal offline, I think It'd give the impression that I'm a porn star or something.

But on the whole, it could be worse.

"York Beckett"... That's a frickin' awesome name.
Trust me, I would change it any day. If you knew my real name, I think you'd agree.

Uhh, it'd be kind of WEIRD, considering it's a word in a foreign language (to the people livin' in my country). But overall? I, uhh...guess I could live with it.

Yes, so it has. Good timing you have.
Though, it's not Meralia exactly, it's Merkku, but I use that around the internets too. And yeah I changed my name to Merkku just this month. I like it much more, it suits me better, and I've been using it for so long that practically nobody knew my real name anymore anyway. And the change feels really awesome! I never really was all that fond of my name, it didn't feel like me at all. This is so much better! And I never again have to explain why the name in the paperwork has nothing to do with the nickname. ("It all started over ten years ago on a LotR forum...")

Thanks for your curiously well timed thread :)
