nothing effects the game world in TES
Except for the Bloodmoon expansion. I loved building Raven Rock.
But this is the true wound of Oblivion. You build Raven Rock. MASSIVE sense of accomplishment.
You read a book in Oblivion: some random person made Raven Rock and it was burnt to the ground a few years later.

Thanks for pissing on my playtime.

It... it all makes sense now. Ah well, time to hunt down every guard in existence to ensure this hive minds destruction thus freeing Cyrodil from its all knowing grasp.
I never bother fighting them haha I just pay the damn fine. My potion-making character has gold pouring out of every orifice so I never need to go to jail.

It's SO easy to make money in Oblivion... never need to worry about the guards just bribe em!
i think we might be derailing this thread but its so satisfying to see them die.

I wish they'd put something like Raven Rock in Oblivion. I'd even settle for a third-party mod.

No voice actors. Think about it, no voice actors, more room on the disk, more quests/items. VA is over-rated.

Yes... it sure is!

Back on topic:

I want to see fast travel between indoor locations. Fetch quests are so boring when it's 7 consecutive (long) loading screens.

There is:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15412

Great mod.

OT:
Horse combat.

Better overall combat (like Fallout 3 would be acceptable).

Better stealth (anyone who's done the thieves guild quests without Illusion or invisiblity potions in Oblivion will know what I mean).

Shitloads of small, menial tasks (eg-deliver some bread to some random feller because he's hungry).

Reactive npc's ('You saved me town from a fuckload of demons, have this free pie!' as opposed to 'Yeah yeah whatever you want this pie? 50 bucks.')

Having singular pauldrons gauntlets etc (coz mixing and matching is fun as it is awesome looking).

MORE PEOPLE. I cannot express this more. Oblivion totally fucked the concept over by having about 13 people in each city. Screw original names, just do what they did in the Fallout series. eg: 13 interesting quest givers/ important/semi-important npcs with actual names and a fuckload of Peasant, Guard, Guy-Who-Sits-Around-On-The-Park-Bench-And-Eats-All-The-Cheese-Rolls-From-The-Bucket-Of-Cheese-Rolls-That-You-Were-Going-To-Sell kind of npcs.

More small villages/towns/farmhouses. Morrowind did a great job of having about 6 major cities and like 30+ random little villages and farms. Adds huge amounts of realism. Oblivion mucked it up by having 8 or so major cities and about 3 villages/farms.

Varied landscapes and terrains. See Morrowind.

Non-Physchic guards.

More quests. Actually kinda repeating myself here but I'd like to see the kind of thing that the guy from the book store tells you to deliver a letter and if you do so without reading, quest done. However, upon reading it drags you into a huge questline of betrayal, murder, thievery, all that kind of bullshit that everyone(yes even you) loves.

Different quest endings/options. Goes hand-in-hand with last paragraph. And I don't mean the generic bullshit Good/Evil/Neutral stuff (although that works too) and more of the I've-Just-Murdered-Mr-Henkie-From-Down-The-Road-Should-I-Turn-Myself-In-Or-Hide-The-Body kinda thing. Actually both of those are good alone, together they awesome. Oh, and also that if you make a single different response it won't go all to the same ending. Eg: Heres a quest, click here for Good character, Here for Evil, and Here for the guy who doesn't Give A Toss Either Way, then procede to generic same quest end.

Make fast travelling only available through Cities/Villages/Towns etc etc and not every single little cave and ruin. That or go back to the whole siltstrider/boat/magey teleporty thing.

Make the major military faction actually BIGGER than the generic evil bandit/maurader(yes I know thats spelt wrong, F-off)/hiwayman factions, because I was so sick of having EVERY FUCKING SINGLE Imperial Fort in ruins and controlled by outlaws and evil-doers in Oblivion. I mean, what happend to fucking military pride? And also, isn't Cyrodiil supposed to be the capital of the Empire? Shouldn't it have more security than nowadays airports? And what happened to this so called Imperial Legion? Are they all on fucking holidays in Hammerfell? And Oh Dear this seems to have been turned into a rant. Sorry.

Thats all I can think of for now, I'll probly think of something JUST after post this but meh.

Edit: Shit I just remembered, right on time AFTER the post btw, BETTER VOICE ACTORS. AND MORE OF THEM. Yahtzee explains better so just watch his review on Oblivion.

Edit Edit: Wow what a fucking great whopper of a post.

1. Weapons from Morrowind, ie, spears, throwing knives, and above all else, STAFFS. Those things are FUN to fight with!

2. M'aiq the Liar. Need I continue?

3. For the love of Akatosh, NO GUNS. I don't want this series to suddenly finding itself fighting aliens on some ring in space.

4. An option to actually join the baddies in the main quest. If I'm the evilest bastard this side of the Jerall Mountains and have murdered everyone I meet, why CAN'T I try to destroy the world?!

5. Mother, fucking, mounted, combat.

But magic.
That's fine if I'm playing a spell caster or if I find a bag of holding or something and they give a good reason for it... But if I'm just a vanilla rogue or fighter I don't think I should be able to tote around five sets of full plate armor in my pack just because I'm strong enough to lift them...

So you're saying that you want to walk everywhere all the time in the giant game world, even to your house to pick up different equipment because you can only carry one set of armor and weapons?

Whatever's cool with you but I could easily see that get tons of negative feedback from players.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying and I don't care if the casuals (pardon the expression) don't like it. You had to walk nearly everywhere in Morrowind and it was great fun...
No you didn't. Silt Striders. Teleports. Almsivi and Divine intervention.

And it's not casual gamers that want fast travel, it's everyone. Morrowind is my favourite game but having to walk from Vivec to Sheogorad would just piss me right off. Think a little.
You're absolutely right, of course... I wasn't 100% clear. I've nothing against the "limited" fast travel offered in Morrowind. I just didn't care for the "open map, press button, teleport anywhere" system in Oblivion...

For fuck's sake, CLOAKS AND CAPES. What kind of high fantasy story doesn't have a fucking cloak? Are they that wool-headed?
YES. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.

That's my wishlist, what Mr. Emu said.

[quote="Xylis" post="9.167442.4484471Varied landscapes and terrains. See Morrowind.[/quote]This. A million times this. I forgave morrowind of all it's faults because it had a unique interesting world to explore. Oblivion gave me utter genericness.

Imagine an Oblivion style game set in the Planescape setting.
