4) Fallout 3 - Xbox 360

No real order

FF VII (no judging please)
No More Heroes (Don't tell me this isn't an RPG it SO is)
Zelda TP
Mass Effect (haven't played 2)
Tales of Symphonia

Flame me for being blasphemous, but Fallout 3 had a very mediocre story... Bethesda games never make my list...

Oh! It's time for the paralympics of gaming again. YAY!

1. VTM: Bloodlines +the only RPG to ever excel at anything(dialogue, VO); fittingly an impure RPG/shooter hybrid at #1. -shit combat

2. Fallout 2 +big, challenging, unforgiving, decent wrting, some nice C&C -shit combat

3. Planscape Torment +best story in a computer game ever(but still only average) -shit combat

4. Baldur's gate 2 +big and without cripling flaws -no greatness either, mediocre combat

5. some other semi-decent game, with crappy combat parts

A lot of old ones here, in no relevant order, but nostalgia is a powerful thing.

1. Nethack (The only RPG I can say I have played every year for the past 15 years)
2. Planescape Torment
3. Pools of Radiance (The original SSI one)
4. Ultima V
5. Persona 3

So many others I could have said too. Such as Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Chrono Trigger, Baldurs Gate 2, Eye of the Beholder, The Bards Tale (the original, not the remake).

1. Baldur's Gate 2
2. Morrowind
3. Mass Effect 2
4. Daggerfall
5. Dragon Age: Origins

Really, I'll like anything by Bioware or Bethesda.

In terms of most time pumped in to:

1) SWG
2) Mount & Blade (with various mods, mostly Prophesy of Pendor)
3) Kotor 1
4) Pokemon (as a general series, i've only got fire red on android now)
5) Mass Effect

In terms of favorates:

1) Kotor 1
2) Pokemon Red (nostalgia wins)
3) Kotor 2
4) Champions Online
5) Fire Emblem

Oblivion
Morrowind
Champions of Krynn
Ultima Underworld
Arcanum of Steamworks and Magick Obscura.

Fallout 1 & 2 and Wasteland make the list as well when I'm in an apocalyptic mood . . .

Argh, this is probably one of the harder decisions ever.

1. Baldur's Gate 2/Throne of Bhaal (no reflection required, it's my favourite game of all time)
2. Planescape: Torment (I haven't even finished it, but goddamn is it ever good)
3. Final Fantasy VI (3D is for pansies)
4. Golden Sun/Golden Sun: Lost Age (need to dust off the ol' GBA and play through those again)
5. Mass Effect 2 (I liked it better than some of the games on this list, but calling it a full-blown RPG is stretching it)

Honorable mentions go to the Pokemon series, (Gold/Silver/HeartGold/Soulsilver), Kotor, Jade Empire, Final Fantasy 7, and finally Dragon Age coming in at a resounding "decent." Seriously, you call something the "spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate" and I expect a HELL of a lot better than that.

1. Fallout 2
2. Vampire the masquerade bloodlines
3. Deus ex
4. Baldur's gate (even though BG 2 would probably be better if I actually had gotten further into it)
5. Fallout new vegas/Alpha protocol/mass effect/System shock 2 (if that counts as an RPG)/Planescape Torment... I can't really decide.

OK. Despite it being my all-time favorite game, I can sympathize with the "Mass Effect 2 is not really an RPG" crowd. Or I can at least say this: If I want an RPG experience, Mass Effect 2 is not going to be my go-to.

That said, my top five RPGs:
1. Mass Effect
2. Knights of the Old Republic
3. Shadowrun (1993, SNES)
4. Dragon Age Origins
5. Earthbound

1. Oblivion
2. Legend of Mana
3. Final Fantasy XIII. You read that right.
4. Dragon Age: Origins
5. Pokemon Platinum

3, 4, and 5 are subject to frequent mood-based changes.
