Capuchin Monk Sings in Heavy Metal Band Fratello Metal

This story will really throw a twist on the "what is Christian music" debate!

I originally saw "Brother Metal" on the BBC World News last weekend. He's a Capuchin monk named Brother Cesare Bonizzi who sings in a heavy metal band called Fratello Metal.

Apparently he saw Metallica 15 years ago and was inspired by the energy of the music. His band recently appeared in the Gods of Metal festival in Italy, along with giants such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Slayer.

While he does touch on faith and religion in his music, he says that he is not seeking to draw people to Catholicism. Instead, he told the BBC, "I do it to convert people to life, to understand life, to grab hold of life, to savour it and enjoy it. Full stop."
