myaaaaah *drools into keyboard*

I am really excited about playing this new zelda game.

I quite like the new artwork. The art in twilight was really pretty but sometimes I had a hard time with the graphics because things were hard to see (realistic looking computer graphics confuse me immensely...)

Also I am looking forward to the new utilisation of the motion controls. Twilight princess was okay, but when they realised the same game for gamecube, I felt quite ripped off.

The slash motion in the video looks like fun, cannot wait to get started =)

I do find people's claims that the graphics are "TP+WW LOLOLOL" which they're really not. WW had vivid, very contrasting and simplified colours and shadows that made every part of the world pop, while TP had a very muted and homogeneous style, with important areas being highlighted using mostly lighting features. This one has a sort of very smooth and reserved but still colourful feel, pastel if you will, with focus seemingly drawn by geometry and shaping. Completely different design philosophy. I'm on and off about how good it looks, standalone, but I'll need to see it moving in front of me to really say.

Wait, so the new Zelda game is going to be all gimmicky motion control crap? Well that seals it, not buying. Which is sad, I would have liked to have played it.
Your loss but without motion controls it (and TP Wii version) would be no different than other console Zelda game since the N64. Then people would be complaining about that.

I liked playing TP with motion controls personally and I did play it on the Gamecube first.
Yeah, I want it to be played like it used to be. And considering that Ocarina of Time sold a ton, it's not a bad thing either. Motion controls are bad, and no option to turn off motion controls is even worse. I outgrew waving a cardboard tube around as a sword when I was a little kid....why would I want to do it now, for hours at a time?

[sarcasm] How dare they make a Zelda game that's been built from the ground up for the Wii have motion controls! They should give it the exact same control scheme as Windwaker!

Obviously the trailer for the game is going to highlight how the motion controls will change the gameplay. I'm sure the controls will work well (they did in Sports Resort) and the game will feel like a Zelda adventure.

I'll go ahead and say that I like the art style, however what I don't like is the control. It looks like absoloute ass.

He's the gilded sword personified, like how the girl is the master sword.

Great spotting there. Makes all the more sense now.

After Nintendo told Justin Beaver that they wouldn't let him use one of their Mario sound clips, I promised them I'd buy Skyward Sword when it came out. That very day.

I'm not upset about making this promise. In fact, I'm looking forward to it. Aesthetics have never been a huge issue with me. Unless it looks like it was from the N64, I don't mind them downgrading things for the sake of gameplay mechanics, characterization, story, etc.

...Though now that it's been brought up, a more acrobatic Zelda game would be kinda cool... Hmm...

I'm not completely sold on the art style, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see. The way I feel, the game was always cartoon antics with young/toon Link, and grimdark with adult Link, so crossing them over just feels...weird. I'm not sure how I feel about serious face!Link killing everything in Animal Crossing land.

Link is a righty in this game because it's for the Wii, and it would be weird to swing your right hand to make Link swing his left. And since the vast majority of the population is right-handed...
He was a lefty in the GC version of Twilight Princess because there wasn't this problem.

However, Ganon's origin is in OoT, LoZ:SS is BEFORE all others so Ganon can NOT be the enemy as he did not even exist.
I disagree. Considering they're the personifications of the three pieces of the triforce, they reincarnate every so often, so it's not a big stretch of imagination to believe that there would an incarnation before OoT. I don't think anywhere in/during OoT they said "This is the first Ganondorf ever end of story" so it wouldn't even need a retcon.

But you know exactly whats going to happen when the try to give him more personality. It'll be like Other M all over again. Not as bad, perhaps, but nintendo will still be fracturing the fanbase.
That's what I'm afraid would happen if they gave Link a personality. Granted, the same guy that is the creator of Metroid isn't the creator of Zelda, but not only would Nintendo have hordes of distraught fangirls breaking down their door because he's not sexy enough, I don't want to have to learn that Link has an unhealthy dependent relationship with Ganondorf. That is just too tough a pill to swallow.

I would like to see more music mechanics. There were too few howling stones in Twilight Princess, and they were non-repeatable, and there weren't any music mechanics in PH and ST at all. I hope they bring back the hidden sword skills from TP as well. I loved those things. :)

As a left handed gamer, I refuse to buy this game. Handedness may not matter when it's a controller in my hand, but when it's a wiimote it does.

Plus, LINK IS LEFT HANDED. Get it fucking right!

New Ganon design, maybe?
Nah, it looks more like a Vaati redesign to me. You could be right tho'.
Then again, it could even be a new villain entirely. Wouldn't THAT be sweet :)

Wasn't me who noticed it, i'm just spreading the word.
Great spreading of the word right there. Makes all the more sense now.
