As a leader of the Cult of Alpha Protocol Fans, I thank you Yahtzee for making more favorable review than usually.

Maybe now someone who was shouting 'Shite!' without any real experience with it will shut up, or maybe even try it to see for himself it isn't that bad.
As a follower in the Cult of Alpha Protocol Fans, I bow before you oh worshipfulness. :D

In all seriousness though, I'm really glad that Yahtzee gave a fair review for this game and sounded like he actually liked it. Like you I'm so sick of people screaming "It's SHIT!" and then going on about how all the reviews of this game were bad (they weren't, the PC version got a high of 86 from one and more than a few 80s) especially since a lot of them haven't played the game.

Yay for Yahtzee! Even though apparently video killed his radio star.

But if by some chance (actually pretty decent, contrary to what the most reviews are saying) you'll like it, then maybe you'll finally see it's not good to throw a poo at a game when you didn't even play it and just saw an opinion of couple of reviewers who were expecting Mass Effect 2 and didn't get it (because it isn't Mass Effect 2 in modern world. The ONLY similarity is them both being a third person game using guns and cover system).
I've played AP through 6 times and really enjoyed it.

I think you're right in that more than a few reviewers went into the game expecting it to be like other games based on the Gears iteration of the Unreal engine (namely MA and MA2)... but trying to play AP in the same style is asking for the game to give you a slap.

My only real complaint is how fucking short the game is for a RPG.

Why the hell was Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in the DCAU in the spectrum of 'dicks and assholes'?

Other than that, was a great video. Keep up the good work Yahtzee, and good luck with your book! ^_^
Because Yahtzee considers Batman to be an asshole. He was simply putting in Kevin Conroy to make it more interesting. Am I the only one who got that?
That's what I was thinking, actually... either that or just to see if all the fanboys/girls caught it. I do love Kevin Conroy, though. I think I've been in love with his voice from the first episode of B:TAS I ever heard...

Same. He actually told me about the game in the first place, and then actually made me want to buy it. Should I or not? Could do with a new game really.

John Barrowman FTW

Pants rip and skirts fall down wherever he goes. Plus, Torchwood is awesome.

God damnit Yahtzee, No More Heroes 2 came out 3 FUCKING MONTHS AGO, YOU HOSTED A FUCKING AUSTRALIAN RELEASE PARTY FOR IT, IT'S ONLY 7 HOURS LONG, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REVIEW IT
This, only not as whiny/demanding.

Yeah, NMH is my favorite ZP review, hands down. I watch it at least once a month because it's so entertaining.

Why am I on probation!? Read my message at the top, whats wrong with that?
Is there some sort of automatic probation dispenser for whoever is the first to comment on a new zero punctuation video?
You posted 3 minutes after a 5 minute video was posted. I'm pretty sure anyone who posts before they could have possibly watched the video is automatically placed on probation or banned.

Oh hey look a band wagon!

No more heroes 2. Where is?

Moving on nicely, I was under the impression this game had some kind of incredible environmental destruction, as well as some other fancy tech. I'm curious how that works. I also wonder, how is it best to level weapons? There's always going to be a problem or a hole you haven't filled in. Isn't it just better to say your guy has had weapons training at the beginning, is therefore proficient in all weapons, but gets used to weapons or types of weapons as he uses them. e.g. the more you use a desert eagle, the better you can control recoil and the faster you can aim it.

Let me sum up what he hated about the game:
1.The VA for Mike sounds like a D-bag
2.The game has no balance
3.The dialog system is flawed
Wow, that lines up with every other reviewer out there...

P.S. I was hoping this would be good but I guess my hope was poorly placed, no wonder the quality of your other work suffers when you are simultaneously developing the post-apocalyptic goodness of Fallout: New Vegas!

This is interesting, largely because you do have so many options to be "evil". I mostly play the "good" path, as being evil isn't my cup of tea. Though I wonder how this game deals with scenarios where doing an evil deed, can in fact have a quite positive outcome. Where you might kidnap the little girls kitten, only to later discovery that it was in fact a bomb cleverly disguised as a kitten because some other evil-doer intended to send a warning to her dad. Unlikely scenario yes, but the concept is very real.

Because, Kevin Conroy plays Batman as an asshole. Did you watch Batman Beyond? He's a complete dick!

Umm well I played it at a friends. The dialogue system is amazzing! I mean I've never seen anything like it. But the shooting, hiding mechanics are soo flawed! I read online thier is a build you can put points into that don't make it too obvious, but if you deviate from that it goes downhill.
Me personally found the game to be wayyy to glitchy. I have too many funny stories lool. But if you're into story and a dialogue driven games, you could put up with the game just for th butscenes.

I'm on RDR atm, online play is keeping me hooked + new DLC soon =) I'm holding out buying any new games untill Assasin's creed & DC universe (hopefully its not subscription based!)

You like games with a good story (ok, it is complicated, but it isn't that hard to understand as YZ says), good Role-Playing mechanics (dialog and perks system), and can forgive not very fresh graphic? Go for it. Just don't be scared by a pistol accuracy at first. :p In fact, I encourage putting some points in it. Chain Shot is probably the most powerful skill in the game right next to Shadow Operative (that invisibility Yahtzee was talking about), and awareness.

I found it an odd coincidence that me and Yahtzee had the same playing style (specialising in stealth and melee attacks). But he's right about that boss fight... The boss fights are simply shooting and that kind of annoyed me

I wasn't expecting Yahtzee to be one of the few critics not to ***** and moan about the skill-based shooting.

Well done, Yahtzee. You've amazed me once more.

P.S. Dog-in-a-hat.

A spy RPG you say? Sounds intriguing! Whats that you say? The game sucks? Oh well...more wasted potential...
