a bit disappointing to be honest really... not much fun watching yahtzee review a good game. Now dont get me wrong, it was a good review, but you cannot honestly believe anybody watches ZP because they actually care what yahtzee thinks? It's all about the dick jokes, which this review was severely lacking. I'd no sooner buy a games based of a ZP review than i would based of an IGN review. For very different reasons of course, but yahtzee takes the piss out of games because its funny, and very often just for the sake of doing it. i expected more than a couple of complaints about absolutely inconsequential gameplay elements.

that said, I eagerly await the next one.

Really? I think some people, not to mention names, actually watch Yahtzee to give reviews about a game they are thinking about buying.

See you say that it is not as fun when yahtzee praises a game because you want him to bash it. Which is fine. I enjoy the jokes that yahtzee gives and such, but there are some people on this forum who sit here and say "he bashed this game so it must not be good and so I won't play it" like the hypocrites most of them are.

I mean you either look to yahtzee as a a reviewer or you look at him for a pleasurable laugh poking fun at popular games and some not known about. People need to understand that they cannot have it both ways.

There are plenty of games Yahtzee has reviewed that he bashed and the games in question are actually good games, but people will say "Yahtzee hated it so I will too." Yahtzee only bashes the game because that is in his job description. Even he has said many of times "people hate it when I praise games so I mostly just bash it. Besides, you should not let my opinion alone to conform you to make choices. That, in essence, is the retard of retards."

That is the only think that urks me about his fanbase. Some are so hypocritical that if he recommends a game like Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is a really good game and the flaws are minor (what game doesn't have a flaw or two?), they say he is nuts and off his rocker, but they praise him and take his word like the word of God if he bashes a game to death.

I don't know if you are like me, but I watch Yahtzee for entertainment and poke fun at the things. I don't take his word as law and I still bought many of the games he said were "so bad" according to his fanbase and most of them are really good.

Hmn yeah i watch yahtzee for the lols, but its not just about bashing games, its just the over all humor, and the before mentioned dick jokes. He's dont a couple of positive reviews which where funny as hell, you dont need to hate a game to make fun of it.
I´'ve played some games yahtzee bashed, eve online being one of them, and i completely agree with his review of the game, and so do most eve players tbh. Of course I play it because it has a depth and community to it that you can only really appreciate if you play it regularly, (im not talking hours/day here, i mean over all playtime).
Of course when you get funny people you get idiots who worship them, just the way of the world. I dont care if people take his word as that of god or not.
TBH I watch ZP for fun, not for a review, which is why this was a bit disappointing, since it was a serious review. now dont get me wrong i would actually love to read/watch serious reviews by yahtzee, but ZP always has and should be just for the lol's.

He is right, the gameplay is quite basic, and the enemies look good and are better characterised then then even batman. Also i also didn't like the fight with killer croc, i was hoping i would go King Kong and break his jaw in half.

I have to agree the only part of the game that even felt like a boss fight was when you fought bane but when you do the same thing again to some no name villaian for the umptenthe time it lost all it's magic. Even though killer Croc also has the imeanse Super Stregth thing going for him an actual fight againsit him would have been more stasfing then the whole sequnce that made it in the game. But on the bright side at least it wasen't the same as the Bane fight.

Heheh I'm impressed - I finished it off the other day and I was very interested to see how Yahtzee would handle a game that had so few flaws and was just overall great fun.

All the flaws he brought up were completely true but if you haven't played the game rest assured the only REAL annoyance is the bat vision - you spend 90% of the game using it which does cheapen the games graphics a little.


Oh and I liked the killer croc fight, it was quite scary but pretty much only because I was expecting him to jump out and me have to fight him at some point.

I've been waiting for this review. Rented the game last weekend so I could view it with both worlds. Apparently we have the same gripes over the game.

Oh, and to answer your riddle at the end of the credits, they use a blacklight.

Ya know,ive been watching Yahtzee for so long,and this is the only review i 100% disagreed with. Batman is nothing we havent seen before and better......alot better. Still,nice one Yahtzee.

Not me... the reason I find his reviews so funny is that pretty much what he says is true.

Watching someone call something a heap of crap when it isn't is boring and needs no talent - there are plenty of people out there who do that and it gets old fast unless you have the mentality of a 12 year old.

I'm really glad Yahtzee liked this game. I remember a new user on the Escapist once said that "Batman Arkham Asylum is just a casual game disguised as a hardcore game" (those might not have been his exact words but, that's pretty close to what he said) then he went on to praise Portal, Call of Duty 4, Saints Row 2 and some other games that Yahtzee praised in his reviews and then he went on to make some more of those annoying Halo bashing threads (he was a total Yahtzee fanboy). Nothing like that sweet smug feeling you get when someone who you don't like makes an ass of himself!

Batman Arkham Asylum looks great. The one thing that looks awkward in the game is how much space Batman take up on the screen. It's as if the developers were afraid that the graphics were horrible and they wanted to hide them. But, this game looks great and I'll definitely be picking this one up!
