Very funny review, but I disagree. Sure, it's a knockoff, but it's a fun one, and while the plot seems more like a side-plot rather than the real thing, it was still entertaining. The plot is kind of weak because it's not really about how Rapture got to be, how Rapture fell, and how it stood up again. It could be improved by giving a plot that matters, this just seemed like a villain who saw that everything was empty and set up shop. But the game play is still excellent, and controlling a Big Daddy is loads of fun.
Also, call me weird, but protecting the Little Sisters was one of my favorite parts of the game. I had to share the game with my brother since he was the one who bought it, so we took turns, so to make it fair, whenever a Little Sister showed up, I kindly said that if I could take the Little Sisters, he could play for longer. Maybe I enjoy escort missions, maybe I feel a strange compassion for the Little Sisters (I never harvested them. I can't harm those poor little girls).
One last thing, I was a ammo wasting hypochondriac, but I still managed to beat the crap out of the Big Sisters.
