Disappointed

Yahtzee is constantly going on about he doesn't listen to requests then kinda bends over backwards and does COD4. Needs abit of consistency if he's going to rant at requests. He also needs to get back to early ZP work when he listened to no-one except maybe the editor at Escapist and the jokes are getting a little repetitive.

As for COD4 - an average game with no special merit.

I knew he was going to make a teeny tiny rant about the incessant gibbering that some people was apparently doing.

Nice work. I downloaded CoD4 about 5 times and then deleted it before I got the courage up to actually try the game. I'm just so scared of it being like Battlefield, which is a mix of good and suck that I'm not interested in dealing with.

Yahtzee, I know you told anyone who was going to recommend games to get sodomized by a religious phallus, but I can't help myself.

Plus I'd like to recommend a really, really good independently made game.

Dwarf Fortress is a game where you create your own civilization. I would say 'from the ground up', but that's not really accurate, since you can either build above or below ground or a mixture of either. It gives you complete control over your civilization (to a rather annoying point- you can choose what materials dwarf-constructed walls and floors are made out of, which can get kind of annoying if you're making, say, a 10x10 room) from who lives there to what crops they grow to where they go to get their heads bashed in. It's basically like Black and White minus the whole 'god' thing and plus more control over the world. The worst point is the graphics and perhaps the story- It's an ACSII game, and the story is generated based on the characters you create, so it could come out as utter gibberish. But aside from that, there's loads to do and explore.

Linkage!

I only made this account so I can state my opinion regarding this week's review.

Yahtzee, I've loved every one of your reviews but this one was disappointing. In this review you sound more like a fanboy rather than a real gamer. I like the fact that you listen to your fans but I don't think you should be influenced by them. What happens if halo4 is released and a few millions xbox fans will want it reviewed?

You criticized (in one way or the other) every single game you've review, even the ones you really liked (such as bioshock); and yet you praise CoD4 like its' the next coming of Christ.

Don't get me wrong, CoD4 is a very good game but it has its flaws. I mean you have less freedom than a dog on a leash. It's more scripted than a jerry springer show. The AI can sometimes be as dumb as a rock, but that will be hard to notice since they will re-appear more than penis enlargement ads when surfing the net.

Please Yahtzee, don't let yourself be influenced by you fanbaaaaase again.

hello everyone, after watchign yahtze's videos and urinating a hell of a lot i have bruahgt myself to post on a forum, somthing i usualy do not do but hey ill go with it seeing as he claims to be british and lives in the country where we sent all our convicts (no offence).

anyways i just wanted to comment about COD4. I recently tried the game on ps3 and foudn is nto far short of sucking monkey nuts. the controlls were about as much use as a chocolate firegaurd, seeing as you have to button mash shoot your way thrugh every single phase of the game.

on a good note though, i realy enjoyed the online part of the game. A part of the game that yahtze will never experiance seeing as he only ever plays single player games and/or MMORPG's.

all in al the game was ok so i must agree with him in some sense that it was fun.

One of the funniest ones from him yet in my opinion, because it is really rare that I even get a smirk on my face from being on the internet and this one made me laugh a little bit. Even though much of the humor was childish (stick a tower in your bum), but I guess thats the thing that makes me laugh.

It was also one of the videos in which I had the hardest time understanding what he is saying (maybe because I'm from Norway where English teaching is not the biggest priority since every kid has to get a shotgun for his 9 years old birthday because of those annoying ice bears whose messing around in our trashcans at night,) but what the hell.

And I got the feeling that he was more pissed off and stressed than usual in the vid, wonder why xD.

I think that the review was quality, it just wasn't funny. I watch Zero Punctuation because Yahtzee is fucking hilarious, but the CoD4 review let me down.

Most shooter's controls on console are a great kick in the balls of the acuracy and movement freedom. Also I've heard about some issues on CoD4 on the ps3...

I'm kind of surprised by how optimistic he was with this review. I guess it just rubbed him right, though the game's single player campaign felt a little stale to me.

I wonder if I'm the only one that noticed that he had a picture of the movie Downfall. >.>
I haven't played the game and I most likely won't, but that's only because I SUCK at FPS games. But, I DID see the scene where you're dying and that...was interesting. I think it was an interesting idea to not only KILL the main character, but make you PLAY him while he's dying.
