This is my new fucking favourite. Fucking awesome stuff. I haven't fucking laughed this fucking hard during one of his fucking reviews in long fucking time.

I was wondering why there wasn't as much fanboyism in the review's forum topic (there was some, but not as much as the troll's want you to believe), I guess most of them filled his inbox so they wouldn't be called out in said forum topic.

I liked SSBB, I hated his SSBB video, but this one is just pure FUCKING Supreme. DAMN can this guy TROLL! You can't not laugh at this one, fanboi or not.

FUCKING CAPS LOCK FUCKING AWESOMENESS!!!1!!11! FUCK

PS: 500 posts? I think SSBB is teh ubah thread steroids.

While I must admit I was slightly disappointed it wasn't a GTA IV review - that was awesome (as always.) and am now totally looking forward to next week's review! :D

Wow, Indigo_Dingo fighting everyone? My money's on the chicken! Go clucky!

Anyways, when I first saw the review I was a bit let down. I thought Yahtzee was going to moap about his fans and hate mail. After watching it, I really liked it. I haven't laughted so hard in a while. That's right, stick it to the man!
Why are you forsaking me? Man, I thought you were cool.
Ok, everyone lay off Indigo. My 1654 posts beat all of your put together.

Thank you so very much for giving the fanboys the olde backhand to the ego. It's about time that they realize that ZOZAMAGAWD people have opinions. Seriously, people, get over it. His reviews are not to be taken seriously, and reviews are really just to test the waters out before you go about buying a game. Still though, I think that giving a review a number is just state the overall opinions of the review quickly, should you not read the entire thing. And, should you go off of the number alone, than you fail.

I got your back, dude. It really pisses me off to see these new kids on here screaming that respected posters, such as yourself, are "retarded," then basking in the hollow glory of an internet win. At this point, I don't think that there's anything that the Y-man could hate enough to drive them away... unless he started to hate hate itself and gave rave reviews to everything. I'd like to see this same sort of show next week criticizing all of the Yahtzee man-love fanboys.

Wow, I'm not quite sure what to think about this week's episode. On the one hand, it wasn't really a review (of a game, at least) and it discussed a game he already reviewed. On the other hand, it was fucking hilarious. And this is coming from a guy who took offense at the original review (if only because I felt that the end of it proclaimed that EVERYONE who enjoys the game is a fanboy). The true spirit of ZP was captured in this "review," and for that alone it was a success.

As I mentioned in a post for the SSBB review, "Yahtzee must be laughing his ass off reading through these comments," or something to that effect. Well, I don't know if he read through the comments or not, but he certainly seemed to enjoy tearing apart those emails. Close enough in my book. ^_^

Also... did someone here use the word "defenestration?" Best word of all time.

*YES* I'm so glad he did this, albeit kind of disappointed he didn't address the only thing I found to be wrong with the review, it's what he said about button mashers being able to compete with skilled players.
Any half decent Brawl player could easily take on a team of three people if they were compromised of button mashers.
EH, shouldn't have irked me really but I used to play in Melee tournaments and all that.

Otherwise, the arguments these two videos have stirred up are almost as entertaining as the reviews themselves.
Albeit quite a bit more depressing.

Sorry to everyone since I kinda skipped the first 14 pages of review and skimmed through this one as well. The smash brows reviews is justified by the fact it's Yahtzee's OPINION and lets face it he liked Grim fandango and other games we "polite" gamers prefer to forget. This is however not the point The fact is despite being offended by his verbal attack on people's favorite titles and hero's we will be back for more it's just too funny. However the real issue that everyone is side stepping is why doesn't Yahtzee critique Strategy games. Especially
Supreme commander the game the combines the felicity of Augustus and the virtues of Trajan .

I don't really think this was fair. I'm sure there were letters with criticisms he couldn't refute, such as how he spent over half the time ranting about Nintendo instead of the game, but of course he wouldn't show them.

He needs to get over this. Many of the loyal ZP watchers thought the review was quite below average for legitimate reasons, yet he continually taunts the critics and blames everything on fanboys. Although the original review probably wasn't intentional trolling, the message in the following review and now this thing definately are.

I'm thought Grim Fandango was very well liked by pretty much everyone that likes adventure games.

I registered to post in this thread. I've been a Yahtzee fan for a while, and I watched the Brawl review fiasco happen.

Very early on in the forum, a couple of people said that it was a generally accepted rule not to make fun of your own fans. However, the emails that he quoted here were truly ridiculous. None of them were well reasoned arguments against his review.
-snip-
He had to pick the dumbest emails in his pile because doing otherwise would have made him look stupid. It's kind of disappointing that he didn't even try to have a reasonable discussion about it, but I didn't really expect him to from the get-go.

And, as it has so often been pointed out, a review is a subjective statement of opinion by one person who played the game. It should be noted that most (not all) of the objections in the SSBB forum could be summed up in the emails he reviewed here.
The second (and most important) reason people had to get pissed off was that he didn't just say, "Brawl is a shit game." He's entitled to say "Brawl is a shit game." because that's his opinion. He said, "Brawl is a shit game, and the people who like Brawl are shit people."
To the first point you make, I actually stayed up with most of the posts in the forum. The majority on both sides of the argument could be summed up by the emails he quoted in this video, whether they were defending yahtzee or defending SSBB.

As to your second post, I've just gone back to check out your quote here. He does not say that the people who play Brawl are shit people in either this response or in his original review. He says that, regardless of his review, most people who play it already know if they enjoy it or not and that his review won't mean a thing, a point that was borne out in the subsequent posts in the forum.

Wait a minute...I know what's going on here! I'm getting sucked into a he-said, she-said argument! Lol! Bad g31st! No donut for you!

As I said before, "let's get back to the good old weeks when we could watch a review, laugh about it, and discuss it like the reasonably well-adjusted crazy people we are."

if you dont like his views, dont watch his videos. that way, you wont get worked up over his comments, and therefore wont bother everyone else with your own bitter feed back. just take it to a smash bros forum and ***** about him there, im sure he'll be deeply offended.

BRILLIANT video

looking forward to next weeks

WOOOOOOOW This one got more posts than the Review of The Witcher LOL

Cool video Yahtzee! Do not listen to those twats, keep up the good job!

People really get worked up for stupid reasons. I watch the reviews for fun. If I want an opinion I'll check out multiple critics perhaps so to get an idea, although in the end all comes down to personal taste.

Make love (if you can get away from your console long enough), not hate-mail :p

Though this be madness, yet there is method in't. At least he's not attacking the regular viewers, or even any people who emailed him with valid points to make. While the topic might be the same, this video is founded on the childishness of the mass hate mail he received instead of the game itself. As I said, I'm sad that it isn't an actual review, but it was still funny. If Yahtzee had wanted to essentially "review" SSBB again, he would have used the valid points instead of the same ones that were brought up before.

I think this video is a humorous plea to end this mindless bickering once and for all, and move on to other things. Hopefully next week we can resume regular reviews and put this all behind us.

And that was the point that my opinion became that nothing you would write after would be worth reading. Still, I understand that those with ADD and other mental disorders need constant "pew pew pew" and respect your opinion, even if it comes from crazy town.
