I don't know if some of those arguments were "valid", but this was still awesome to watch.

Shortly before joining this forum, I noticed that one of the comments from this video was from another member here, Garfgarog (although some of his message was cut out). Although I'm pretty sure this was already brough up, I'm not about to read through all these pages to see if that's true.

But, yeah, Nintendo IS a big boy now. They does care about us, except for how much money we have and how much of it we plan to spend on their games. It's the truth, they're a company, a business, and their number one goal is to make money!

After realizing that I too wanted to send hate mail to Yahtzee, it brought about the irony that I am actually going to DEFEND him, that charming bastard. Yahtzee made good points, he was very humorous in stabbing me with my own loyalty to the series, and he even targeted the newest arrivals to the game. I guess I'm going to have to eat my own contradiction pie here aren't I?

Either way, having played the game myself, it is indeed totaly crap. Fortunatly it wasn't my copy so the money can easly be spent elsewhere. Also, He has the point about people defending consoles. They have to be totaly stuipid if saying a console is crap offends them. That's just me though.

I have had my 360 for 3 years or so, and i've yet to get red ringed.

the fact that this video was made there are a lot of dumb people out there.

While did find brawl fun, it did have a ton of faults.

Like the online mode that never works.

ridiculsly long last level of the campain mode.

dumb story line that really shouldn't be there because its like adding a story line to mario kart, there is no true reason why all these characters are together.

I liked all the unlockables, but it need a coustom music player or somthing not generated by a midi file.

I would have like the game if they had just gotten rid of all the dumb pointless trophies and stickes and put all the n64 levels and gc levels in it.

this version has sort of gotten past the button mashing......if you play it long enough to get there.

After I watched this video, I decided to watch the actual review, and to be honest, even though I like Brawl, I don't see why a lot of people gave you a bunch of hate-mail. I actually didn't find it that negative. Seriously, Yahtzee has made more harsh and negative reviews than the Brawl one (*cough*SonicUnleashed*cough*).

Eh...

I understand the purpose of this review. It takes awhile to play GTA4 and as such you need to put up something else to keep the masses placated. That said, reading over terrible fanmail and making fun of your "fans" is a theme that's somewhat overused and as far as "Yahtzee" humor goes I'd say it falls a bit short.

But what can you do?

I would hardly call those people "fans" if the're cussing him out like that....

And it's not the theme that makes it funny, it's what Yahtzee does with it.

To all the true Nintendo/Yahtzee fanboys: The worst thing you can do to an artist is tell them everything they make is perfect.

Brawl: Mediocre.

Brawl review: Mediocre.

The best thing a critic can do is tell the artist what's bad so he can fix it.

What do you expect him to do? Say "Oh this is a VERY good game, here have a cookie"?

That said, Wii fanboys do come out as major twats in this thread. The sad thing is that they don't realize that people who like Yatzee's reviews are mostly adults who went through a fanboys stage earlier in their lives and they know how ridiculous and pointless it is to be one.

Yatzee said it best in his review when he explained that, as a big corporation with millions in marketing money, Nintendo do not need defending and doesn't care if anyone does it, and yet they blast his opinions by doing the exact same thing that he said they would do.

This is something I asked last page. I wonder what it is that provoke people to respond, and quite harshly, to something that is merely there for an individual's potential entertainment?

If we know that not everyone will like something, and that games and their fun are subjective, then why some human beings take it as a personal insult and lash out? I would really love to know the reasons behind this. I don't think it can be summed up as "immature fanbois".

I understand that you wish to know what makes a "fanboy" tick, so here it is.

Take when you said the "we all know that not everyone will like something", it's true, when we think about it. But this is what seperates us from "fanboys"- they DON'T think about it. They don't think it isn't all about them, that is isn't a personal attack on them.

Okay, that's not fair, I'm not saying they DO think that it's personal. I'm saying they don't think about it AT ALL. Lashing out is something of an instict for them, there's no brain power behind it- and I'm not saying that to insult them, just to explain clearly.
