Wow. I thought I was hated for being a cold hearted *****. Personally I hate the new consoles with a passion and stay out of that fight all together. PC games all the way.
PS. I love my nintendo but they stopped making good games long ago. The Wii could be an interesting console... If every game came with a free Yoohoo.

that was great. these people don't seem to understand that all reviews are essentially opinion and thus none of them can be wrong. and while the majority of the large game reviewers are swayed by popular opinion and general hype/anticipation doesn't mean that they are correct. even though i personally find the SSB games fun and entertaining as well as a nice way to relieve some stress after a bad day, i understand that they are generally a bad game overall. they are simple button mashers with childish graphics and a 2-D fighting arena. just because someone disagrees with the masses does not automatically make them wrong, stupid, ignorant, biased, crazy, etc; it just means they disagree. if you cannot respect someones opinion than thats your problem, not theirs. i have always liked yahtzee because he gives an honest review of games and is not swayed by media, fans, and other reviews. even if i disagree with his overall feelings towards a game he often brings up valid points that i agree with or atleast understand. he is honest, he is opinionated, he is creative, he is unique, and he is fricken hilarious.

God, isn't it enough that we that we argue over SSBB. How many times can someone ***** about spelling. I mean come on here Color, Colour and all that. If it wasn't for spelling mistakes all Nelsons would still be Nielsons, Stuarts would be Stewards and book used to be spelled Boke so really lets complain about something important as few of us are Homes-Culture to begin with. I must say I don't get posting on a forum about the review if you don't like it. There's little excuse to complain if you don't like a TV show that's on at the moment, you can always change the channel. The Internet offers even less excuse, as there is always someone out there who will agree with your point of view, no matter how off your nut you may be. If you watch Yahtzee's reviews and don't like them, stop. You're welcome to disagree with his opinions, there's a reason critics rank right up behind lawyers as most hated beings on earth(well maybe third behind us Americans) however posting on the escapist forums about it isn't the solution.
'Why?' you may ask, the answer is simple. Of those who view yahtzee's reviews, those who feel the need to peruse the forums are most likely to be the more dedicated net-junkies, you won't find your casual listeners bothering to do any more. I'm a perfect example; until a friend pointed out this mess forums to me, I just had his weekly review page bookmarked and ready to go, I never looked any deeper. Of those hardcore enough to forum-post you have a base largely of his dire-supporters, and then those in the 'other camp' who feel so strongly that their voice must be heard they register just to post. (Yes I realize the pot-to-kettle moment here. Please forgive it as I'm trying to make a point.)
If you're in group A, you're going to pounce rabidly all over group B if they show any sign of weakness, or if you can imagine one up that suits you. If you're part of group B you're simply talking to reassure yourself and your like-minded fellows, and not going to convince group A about anything. Group A should locate themselves on a pro-their-game board somewhere and have a good round of back-slapping and sage-nodding over Yahtzee's foibles. They'll feel better, undergo less stress, and clutter up the forums less.
Group A you're not off the hook either. Seriously Yahtzee doesn't need you burying your nose up his arse after every review. Yes he's funny, and I too enjoy his reviews as he shares a lot of my opinions on what makes a game good, but one hundred 'haha great review' posts don't actually add anything to discussion, they just glut the forum up.
Before someone thinks this is an attack against Yahtzee's fans or Wii fans let me say this formula applies to pretty much every forum where even the slightest amount of opinion is allowed to enter into the equation. There's always Group A and always Group B.
Then there's the obnoxious twats like me that think we're somehow important and qualified enough to tell people to stop being predictable sheep and start behaving like adults...on the internet...
I don't know which is worse; the hubris in my post or the impossibility of that last statement.

Wow, Yahtzee really knows how to shit stir! Personally I think SSBB is great fun, but fuck his review was funny. This week dishing it out on all the oversensitive console zealots out there was pretty funny too. Not sure what all the fuss is all about... the way people are carrying on you'd think he'd insulted their mothers (ok, well he did this time, but that was fucking funny too).
Anyway just thought I'd add my 2 cents (i.e it's a video game, calm down).

I'm happy to see the response. It always makes me wonder why people would ask in the first place for a review of game "x" only to turn around and give him the finger for expressing his opinion. Eh, at least at the end of the day, we know that he's independent enough to not have to worry about it. It's a vocal minority.
