So, no C-stick analogue then?
In the previous games, you had a full analogue stick dedicated to controlling the Pikmin around you. This served triple purpose to:
1) Get your Pikmin horde out of the way of well-telegraphed attacks quick-smart
2) Swarm enemies, bridges, gates and objects that you wanted to haul so as to not have to throw all the blighters all the time.
3) Maneuver the horde through tight spaces so as to not lose them off the edge of ledges and the like
I can't imagine this Pikmin being very good without it.

Also, the whistle should expand in area of effect as you hold down the button, so holding it down and spinning on the spot was a great way of quickly selecting all the Pikmin on the screen. And I don't think I had any issues with this on the demo version, so maybe Yahtzee was just tapping whistle all the time?

The flowers are absolutely a controlling parasite. Cordyceps has evolved after it infected a hive of bees! First the bees, then the pikmen, then the WORLD.

No one is here to talk about Pikmin? I loved it, but I am a huge fan of the series so big shocker there. I do believe Yatzee should have played the game using the Wii mote Nunchuck controls, way better than the gamepad from my experience.

I also want to know what the deal is with his gamepad battery life problems? The cord is long enough to keep plugged in and still allowing one to sit far away from the system. By itself, I believe it lasts for about three hours, how long does he play?

Since essentially its his job to play, I'll say longer than 3 hours a session.

My average gaming session tends towards 4 hours.

Some people are mentioning the game controls a lot better with the Wii mote. Furthermore some suggest Yahtzee should have used the Wii mote to review the game and isn't doing Pikmin 3 justice by not doing so. I think it's only fair judging Pikmin on the WiiU using the controller that comes with the WiiU. In fact, the gamepad controller is an important selling point of said console. You can't expect everyone who wants to play this game to go and buy a Wii mote so they can optimally enjoy the game.
That being said, from what I have seen Pikmin 3 looks great and the gameplay seems like it could be fun. I won't get it, I don't have a WiiU and won't be getting one. I think New Little King's Story is the same kind of gameplay, sort of. So I will download that when it comes to PS+.

The one thing I can take away from this review is that I now want to read whatGENOCIDE magazine.

I really hope Yahtzee does not review The Wonderful 101. Every comment board from a website that gave the score under an 8 is atrocious. What is it about Nintendo games that gets people super defensive. Any review for a Nintendo only game that isn't praising everything about that game gets a hoard of comments of people defending it crazily. Maybe this is all games, but it seems like Nintendo games especially have a huge outcry whenever a game isn't reviewed highly. Thinking about it, I guess a game like Dragon's Crown also had the same problem.

Best video I've seen in a while. Maybe it's because I'm in a particularly jovial mood, but besides making me laugh out loud at several points, the people in the comments acting offended and/or condescending because people are making fun of people for acting offended and/or condescending had me tearing up.

The Wiimote + nunchuck control scheme is, unfortunately, highly underrated. It's a very intuitive control scheme for many games. It definitely made Mario Kart in GENERAL a better game and it works perfectly in the Telltale point-and-click adventure games that were released on the Wii.

Pikmin 3 is a beginners rts, possibly for those who've never heard of a mouse for control. Fun but annoyingly so. My Pikmin for a mouse, indeed.

As for mentioning the Somme, nothing wrong with that. mentioning such tragedy of war in passing jokes is not a problem, only if the oversensitive make it one. Yes, people died, but only through remembering such positively or negatively, can it be chalked up as something insane not to repeat. Its sign posted in history for you, to morn over whenever you feel the need.

When you are driving and run over a hedgehog, do you stop to your car and hold a wake and burial for it? No? Didn't think so. Try not to be such a white knight, Mr/Ms Genocidicles.

People tend to complain about reviews when the score is dragged down because of things that don't actually affect the gameplay. Sexism is the big topic at the moment (hence the complaints about W101 and DC reviews).

The wonderful 101 comments! Oh wait, now it's 102... Damn.

On topic:
Yahtzee is a rather tragic character, first he complains when the WiiU has no games then he complains when he has to buy games for the WiiU. To be stuck in a rut of complaining, I know it's his gimmick to be overly critical and cynical but it can be a bit grating at times. I still love him and all his persnickety ways and I don't object to his opinion on Pikmin 3, but I would be lying if I said I didn't find his semi-conflicting arguments a bit annoying.

Despite my minor complaint I did find this review very funny, at least enough to justify me spending my time watching it.

Apparently most people say the Wiimote controls are the optimal ones, I'll have to try playing Pikmin 3 again with those sometime.

You know, while I don't like Yahtzee's hatred for the Wii U, I can't help but admit that he definitely brings up a lot of good points about Pikmin 3, although you CAN use the Wii Remote to control the Pikmin, which I bet makes things a Hell of a lot easier.

Hell, twoards the middle and to the end of the video, his description of the story of the game is eerily accurate. Like seriously, Pikmin 3 is a freaking dark-ass game!

Oh, and there ARE Pikmin parasites that control young Bulborbs, but they only appear in the second game.

I'm sorry, but I am offended by your depiction of the Pikmin 3 box as shy with a rose in its' head. Everyone knows Nintendo would never allow queer boxes to get near and harm innocent children.

I can't in good conscience continue watching Zero Punctuation after that. It made me feel uneasy, and I'm ashamed Mr Croshaw brought it up.

So We are the ones missing the point?
The guys cracking jokes on the internet?
Not the guy who completely misses the point of this being satirical in nature?
We?
Ok, fair enough, let's address your points then.
1. The apology.

Yeah he apologized and that's cool and everything, we still get to make fun of the situation, because as someone who has made a name for himself taking the piss out of anyone and anything, apologizing for a joke is still kinda unusual.
And I still stand by my assessment that holocaust jokes are higher up on the "offensive-joke"-scale.

2. The joke did not victimize a community.
Simple as that. It was offensive, yes, but it didn'T "victimize" an entire community.

3. Infallibility: No, not really, it was more akin to taking the piss out of the outrage the last video spawned with people creating accounts just to say how outraged they were.

4. "Not a whiteknight, BUUUUUT"...

5. So trans-people have it hard. Ghee wizz if only anyone in one of the countless other threads on the subject had thought to bring that little tidbit of information up, I never would have made my oh so insensitive jokes...

6. "Trans people have it bad"-rant: Still, nothing new here, just leaves me wondering where you got your statistics and all.

7 "You disgust me": Ah, always good to end on a strong high-note to maybe convince whomever you're arguing with to agree with you or to see the issue at hand from your point of view, after all nothing brings someone around to a cause like good old fashioned insults.

All in all: Really not worth my time. If you are so quick to pass judgement over others whilst vigourusly stroking your ego, then I can't do anything to change your point of view, then again, I don't care about you enough to want to.
If you truly believe that these kinds of jokes are damaging to the trans-cause then I can't help you, let it suffice to say that I strongly disagree with your take on the matter and that maybe attacking nigh-anonymous members of an internet forum for cracking jokes might not be as productive as educating the general public about trans-people.

Also: Wanna know my take on trans-people in general? Yeah?
Ok, here we go: I think that trans-people are in a very bad position and that a lot still needs to be done to allow them to seamlessly integrate into society as normal members of the general public, not made easier by the fact that they are in a bit of a standoff, what with transsexualism being classified as a medical-condition and with them requiring SRS, a medical procedure, in order to feel "right", which some people might not understand. At the same time, I am also against the notion that trans-people should not be critizised and that making fun of them is a no-go, for I believe that everyone should be ok to be made fun of, if the jokes is GOOD and worthwile that is, however I do not endorse violent behaviour or unkind words towards trans-people IRL and I have told people of who were making fun of a trans-MTF.
After all this, I think it's important to add that each and everyone you meet should be judged on his/her merits and achievements and not as a part of a larger group they happen to be a part of.

Now, let me present an "offensive" trans-joke to you, as a reference point, because this is a joke I'd consider "crossing the line".
If an MTF-trans and an FTM-trans jump off a rooftop, who reaches the ground first?
Doesn't matter, the important thing is they jump.
In this joke, the fact that the individuals are trans doesn't contribute anything towards the joke and the punchline is that them being trans means that they'd be better of dead / the narrator would want for them to die. THAT'S an offensive joke if I ever saw one.

If you truly wish to argue about this, you're welcome to join one of my upcoming communicasts though on which I will moderate a discussion about the issues trans-people face on a daily basis.

Making this quick because I am about to jump into the bath.

The joke normalised the view that Trans women are not women. That is the entire point. That normalisation leads to victimisation. Was the joke a direct attack on Trans people? Well, it was a direct attack on trans women, Yes. I am tarring you all with the same brush because the outcry is fucking stupid due to that fact and because of people, in all three threads, declaring that FTM trans people are not male, should not be considered as male and post op should not be considered male.

You are all one and the same. Normalising the shitty treatment of trans people.

Trans jokes can be funny. The Cowboys episode of Dr Who had a good one with a trans horse.

*remembers youtube*

BAM.

A joke about transexuals that does not normalise treating them like shit, normalise them being freaks and does not assume control over someones identity.

Sure, I can find horrific jokes. The joke you said was not even the worst I have heard. I have an utterly evil collection of jokes.

Thing is...

The fact that some jokes are worse than others doesn't change squat.

You seem intelligent, you know that.
