Zombies and ammo

I wish there was a zombie that i play as McGiver. Just imagine the possiblities.

I believe some people tried and would have been awesome, if Atari didn't go and fuck it up.

Why do so many people in America have guns and ammo? It's just a bad idea all around.

It's partly to prepare for the eventual zombie apocalypse. We're just preparing for the inevitable.

On the constitutional front, we have private ownership of firearms in order to protect our country from enemies of the republic. This may mean foreign invasion. It can also mean protecting ourselves from a totalitarian government. The Swiss have their firearms for this reason as well.

On a more pragmatic side, we have private ownership of firearms for home defense and self defense. There are statistics and studies that show that increased ownership of firearms in a particular area of the country leads to a reduction of violent crime, if all other factors remain the same.

That. Criminals will carry guns regardless of whether they're legal or not because they're criminals.

Also, aren't the Swiss all issued rifles by the government? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

I heard that too. It was so they could be better prepared when they are called in for reserves.

That's like questioning who leaves the dungeon map in the dungeon, or why a boss is invunerable expect for a pulsing red LED on its back.

I mean, if you don't want people to get your sacred sword, or defeat your new-mecha robot, apply some common sense, I mean cover the LED with the same invunerable material the rest of your robot is made of.

Another example, if your arch-enemy can only jump 3 blocks distance, have a four block gap in front of your castle, and don't set up carefully timed traps that can be snuck past. Make them impassable!

Well if that's your problem, you will fight zombies with bare fists, and they will drop brains and items of clothing. Also there are no ammo randomly scattered, you will just get scarce ammo from people you meet or in gun boxes in selected buildings. But you can use Lead pipes, crowbars and even a machete if you want!

Yeah that sounds pretty good actually.

Serious answer: They had it on them when they died/became a Feral Ghoul (if you're playing Fallout 3). Granted that doesn't answer why centaurs have stuff on them despite having no clothing, but maybe FEV caused them to...uh...grow around their inventory. =X

I simply file them under "butt-ugly", shoot them until they stop moving, and then continue on.
I feel the Flood are more "alien-horde" than "zombie".
"Zombie" tends to imply home-grown, local boys.

Idea that will make me very wealthy:
How about a zombie game where you have to use your environment instead of heavy weaponry.
e.g.
Throwing stuff you find? snapping off a piece of wood or picking up a bit of pipe and using that as a weapon? a boomerang? a gun with limited ammo, which afterwards you can just throw at them? swords? knocking zombies off high buildings?

I can see it now: the ulitimate anti-zombie vehicle: a tractor pulling a power disc harrow. Pitchforks and shovels. Axes and big metal prybars.
The safe house could be the hayloft of the barn.

I think that zombies might infect you if they infect your bloodstream.

It's simple, why zombies carry ammo without guns.

1. A guy starts shooting with a gun. He has a lot of ammo.
2. Zombie bites his neck.
3. Guy drops the gun and still has his ammo in pockets.
4. You shoot him, ammo falls out.

That's pretty damned clever! But also imagine playing resi 4 without any guns at all. For the sake of gameplay there has to be ammo stored up zombies anus', nostrils, pockets etc. Then again a zombie game without guns would be scarier...but would require completely different game designs.

I was playing some RE4 (Resident Evil 4) and killing me some zombies.. when i suddenly started wondering, why is it that there in many zombie games is scattered ammo around in weird places, and why zombies that dont use guns carry ammo with them? Have all zombie-towns been some crazy shooter-village before the zombie apocalypse came. Or what do you think, why do zombies carry ammo and why is the shit scattered all over the place?

Well, specifically in Left 4 Dead, people would have suspected things, stocked up etc. etc. and left some of it behind when they went on. Also, if they died on the way to their next checkpoint, they would leave their stuff lying around.
Anywhere else, believe in CIG. (Convenience in games). If it isn't there, it wasn't meant to be there.
