Afterparty has a different setting/vibe but if you liked the "walking and talking" aspect of Oxenfree you'd probably enjoy Afterparty as well. Yeah, there's a "drinking game" aspect but they're basically mini-games that don't actually show up that much and I think maybe one of them actually affects the plot(I'm not even sure about that one, honestly).Oxenfree II: Lost Signals Adds PS4 & PS5 Versions - The Escapist
Night School Studio and MWM Interactive have added PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 (PS4 & PS5) versions for Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.www.escapistmagazine.com
Oxenfree has a sequel?? This is...well, we shall see. But they got at least one garunteed interest as a customer! Not tried the After Party game yet, dunno why but it just doesn't seem as appealing a setup enough to gamble the money down.
I think that's Max Payne. After 10 minutes, I think I recognize almost every single character in that picture(not sure about Hawaiian Shirt guy next to Goku and M. Bison). That's either really good or really bad.
I thought so too but there's another guy on the left side(between the Joker and John Marston) who looks more like Max Payne. Unless they did the 1+2 versions and then the 3 version separately.I think that's Max Payne.
Are you sure that's not Frank West?I thought so too but there's another guy on the left side(between the Joker and John Marston) who looks more like Max Payne. Unless they did the 1+2 versions and then the 3 version separately.

He's covered wars, you know.

Speaking of frank, a cool little detail has Scorpion steeling Chun Li’s frankfurter.Could be
Oh, the gameplay is no issue at all, it worked well enough throughout Oxenfree for me. I think it's just the setting being in hell feels somewhat creatively limiting. There are an expected abundance of tropes that come with such an environment, whether crafted finely or not. I suppose there's a sense of less potential for surprise or left-field adventure. But it doesn't excite or tickle the curiosity as much on first glance. Though I've just learnt today the dev team includes a writer from Tales from the Borderlands, so am now a little more curious than before!Afterparty has a different setting/vibe but if you liked the "walking and talking" aspect of Oxenfree you'd probably enjoy Afterparty as well. I was kinda worried about that but OTOH I felt they did a pretty good job with that. After a certain point you get tasked to do favors for some of the demons in exchange for them doing favors for you and some of them are a bit...morally dubious, it brings the question of is it ok to do something that feels very sketchy if it furthers your own goals, especially since you're in hell and you're trying to find a loophole to get out of hell.Oh, the gameplay is no issue at all, it worked well enough throughout Oxenfree for me. On one hand, I wanna watch it. On the other, 7,5 hours. Wtf.Stock up on some Jill sandwiches y'all, it's Noah Caldwell-Gervais time!
Oooohhh his videos are always a treat. I like 'em even about games I aren't interested in. Noah has things to say and I like his musings on designer intent, the wider cultural context of the game or even life in general. Won't watch it in one sitting obviously but definitely will watch the entire thing. On one hand, I wanna watch it. On the other, 7,5 hours. Wtf.

I grew up with Claire so her design (in OG RE2) is just "normal" looking to me. But I mean, those cut-off shorts aren't something they'd put on a guy, certainly not back then. It didn't really come across as sexist to me, but I don't find it weird that it might to someone else. As for Annette, again my opinion on her was formed at a time when I didn't really know any better, but the 'neglectful working woman' is a bit of a trope.@Casual Shinji, I do disagree with Noah on Claire and Annette being sexist. How little it is. And that is just another egotistical Umbrella scientists and doctor. There's plenty of those that are male and female in the series. As for Claire, I wouldn't call her design sexist, just a different time with fashion and character design. It's not even that much fan service. Maybe not practical, but she and Leon wanted into a middle of a zombie apocalypse unknown. Jill Valentine's design in Resident Evil 3 makes more sense. It was meant to be fan service. Jill ain't exactly sexist in her attitude either nor writing standpoint. So I don't know what he's going on about in that case.
Oh that's something that's not exclusive to women. There's plenty of neglectful working father/man tropes in games, tv, books, and movies. Hell, both parents are neglectful and egotistical douche nozzles. William was a megalomaniac, and Annette we've already discussed. It's not like they were the only ones I had that personality type at Umbrella. As for Annette, again my opinion on her was formed at a time when I didn't really know any better, but the 'neglectful working woman' is a bit of a trope.
Nope, that's fine persuasive nudging you've succeeded at already there, I am convinced enough to grab it on next sale without spoilers! It also helped that Oxenfree had a demo upon release if I remember correctly. That gave a taste of above-average writing and characterision to quell the wavering doubts. No such luck with After Party though. *disapproving scowls of judgement*I was kinda worried about that but OTOH I felt they did a pretty good job with that. There's more to it then that but it's hard to really get into without spoilers.
