Ah yes now we’re monetizing characters now. Only in this industry can they find ways to be cartoonishly greedy.
The only upside of this is that shit like this makes it much easier for me to prune my list of games I would even consider buying at some point.

NFT?
HARD NO.

There's way too much other shit out there worth playing.

Either that, or it's a subpar port.
Poorly-ported console games? On my PC platform?! The devil you say, sir! THE DEVIL YOU SAY.

Non-fundable token.
Correction: Non-fungible (non-interchangeable) token. The 21st-century version of "selling" the Brooklyn Bridge to some gormless tourist- proof that you "own" something that can be effortlessly copied and shared. (Apparently it has come as a surprise to some NFT "owners" that the images they "bought" were "stolen" through the nefarious methodology of right-clicking and selecting "Save As".)

Ubisoft officially announced their NFTs. Funny how the only did that after YT nuked the dislike button.
What do you expect from a company who hates Steam so much they will never have a single release on Steam Storefront but for EGS. At least what they are doing is exactly aimed for catering to late stage capitalists.

I swear Ubisoft is just trying to give me new reasons never to patronize them agai

Guys, I'm already boycotting you. You can stop working so hard at
They don't want the money of Steam's most ardent supporters and hou anyway. Too tainted by cumstains of porn games and shovelware

But if you want a really cynical note, if Illusion wasn't on Steam they won't be able make NFTs work for their Koikatsu/Honey Select Cards, that market is extremely monetized from personal experience

Nvidia published the requirements for the God of War pc port. Pretty steep for a PS4 game. Could be they're just exaggerated tho. Either that, or it's a subpar port.
Are they going to sell me one of those nice 3080's as well? Because that's gonna be the big bottleneck for the higher settings for a lot of people.

I don't know what those are and I'm not sure I want to know. I can only guess it's another form of MTX, possibly for Gacha(My knowledge of Gacha is limited, akin to "Slot machine in the form of video game pretending not to be a slot machine" and extremely popular in East Asian countries).

Cool, though I'm a little sad UC2/3 weren't included. UC1 I can take or leave.

It kinda looks like the RTX features are for pushing things beyond the typical “Recommended” settings that were found in other ports like Death Stranding and Horizon: ZD, which didn’t have a “Performance” or “Ultra” category IIRC. We’re basically at a point where RTX cards are the high end standard which kinda makes sense. It is a sneaky marketing ploy, but they have to keep in mind, we still can’t readily buy RTX cards at reasonable price levels.

If the Legacy of Thieves does well enough, those may follow…for an extra $50-60.

You know how Steam is allowing porn games, Koikatsu is one of them and that game is rife with players looking to make money off cards of a certain character using either Patreon or what will soon be NFTs so people have an even harder time pirating cards. NFTs are unfortunately here to stay and Ubisoft and Tencent is leading the charge and they got an avalanche of money that will drown out people like you.

Sir, you are underestimating the ludicrous size of my game backlog if you think I'd even notice if every single game decided to go mtx/nft hell tomorrow.

New Splinter Cell Has A Halo Infinite-Like Open World - Report

God FUCKING damn it. Fucking Ubisoft. Just a rumour/leak (from a fairly reliable source), but sounds very plausible.

Assassin's Creed, Battlefield, and now Splinter Cell, all sacrificed at the altar of monetization (because I guarantee this is the only reason they would make it open world). I've been saving up for a PC for years now, but I feel like by the time I get one there will be very little AAA games I would want to play left.

I hope you love indie or AA. Or start looking at old AAA games that are still exlcusive to Steam/Epic/PC.
Honestly not a big fan of indie games. Back when I first started gaming "seriously" indie games were a pretty bad investment in terms of play hours. Was never a fan of platformers/2D games as well. But hey, once I'm more financially secure maybe my SO will finally convince me to play indie games with her.

As for AA, I actually don't even know what would be classified as AA. I guess the closest would be some Platinum Games games I've tried out (though never finished).

No, they're more so niche AAA, but I appreciate the effort though. I know it's kinda hard to tell, but after while you can notice what is AA or mid budget. Usually, though not always, smaller production or studio, sometimes jank, or a B-level quality in product. These are not always concrete examples, but after a while, you'll notice the ticks.
