That's some good shit right there. Reminds of Sunday nights watching Amp on MTV; easily the fondest memories from my teenaged years. I discovered dozens of artists via that show.

Sounds like it would have been pretty good chillout TV. I was just lucky enough to have grown up at the right time in the right place.

Oh, my God, Amp was incredible. The only thing MTV was ever good for, imho. I was too young, but had I been of edgier age, I'd have loved to have had cocktails and weed (if I enjoyed weed) while I watched. A LOT of trippy videos, and absolutely amazing music.

I suppose when I was younger we had the legendary Rude FM Pirate radio station. I have a feeling the following is a more recent one on their internet radio but it's a decent example

Never really listened to much Jethro Tull, except the marvelous performance of The Witches Promise on Top of the Pops But been listening to a fair bit recently

Jethro Tull is one of those bands where I pretty much only heard songs you would find on a generic "greatest hits" CD (Aqualung, Teacher, etc) and went "Eh, all right." But the more songs I find off the beaten path, the more I love; a criminally underrated band.

EDIT: Spelling and missed a sentence.

If that song doesn't make you start tapping your foot, check your pulse because you might be dead. I love this kind of music.

This is my most played song on iTunes. 265 270 times. I'm not super huge into Touhou or anything, I just really like this song for some reason.

This song speaks to the darkness in my soul. I love it. Skip to 0:45 for the start of the song.

I don't remember how it was that I discovered this VN's soundtrack, but it has some really beautiful songs in it. This one 'Celtic Death Ballad' is my favorite. Apparently this song is also in Heroes of Might and Magic 4 so it's probably some kind of free use song (I say this because the HOMM version has a lot of filters over it which would indicate the creators of the VN didn't rip the tracks from that game).
Reminds me of the main theme of Dragon Age: Origins

I have Warchild on vinyl that I nicked off my dad for a long time. Decent enough but I do want to get hold of the earlier stuff.

Is not often the album cover and name so closely represents the vibe of the music within
Not quite Cambodian, traditional rather than rock n roll and I can't find an example on youtube but I nicked this off my Dad some years ago. In the unlikely event you ever find it, give it a go.

"We Shall Keep The Words Of Uncle Ho In Our Hearts" is a real belter.

This is gets my vote for the most beautiful song ever. I first heard it in the '90s watching the film Heat, and have adored it ever since. It catapulted me into the world of electronic music. If the piano could cry, this is what it'd sound like.

I hoped to listen but they don't have an option to play any of the tracks on the website, plus even copy-pasting the words into YouTube doesn't seem to provide accurate result either. 😔

Yeah, if discogs doesn't have a link it probably doesn't exist.

I am currently between houses and everything is all over the place, but once I get settled I'll try and remember to record some and post to youtube. I imagine being North Vietnamese communist songs from, I would guess, the late 60's or early 70's, they aren't copyrighted.

Ppl should remix real world cult chants into trance music more often

For context, a cult built around huckster "saint Germain" obsessed with "the violet flame" for completely logical reasons I assume and not just because it rhymes. They have a fixation on high pitched monotone chants about the violet flame.

It's dumb, mostly harmless if not annoying. But music can still be extracted.
