For a guy so quicky to shit on live service games and standard AAA-crap, you are highly optimistic towards this one lol.
We don't even know if it's going to be "live-service" or not. It's Capcom, which is why I am giving the game some leeway. Don't be mistaken; I catch any funny business, and I ain't buying. Considering the mostly good track record Capcom has done with their games recently, I am willing to trust them to an extent. Once I know more, you will know where I stand. If it were any other developer, or Capcom from 2011-2017, I would be more highly skeptical and suspicious. Like I said before, play the waiting game. Dat RE Engine is getting great use, and Capcom knows how to make it work! New IP, so it is fair to give some chance when we see more.

EDIT: I still wanna Dino Crisis game in RE Engine!

Gundam Overwatch was shown, also dogshit.
That trailer was painful to watch. On top of hero shooters being already saturated market, I was suprised they were playing rather safe with the ip.

I am not the expert when it comes to Gundam, but I know damn well the games can be more than that. Hell, just look at some of the scenes from different iterations. Come on, devs. You can be more adventurous than some overwatch knock off.

IDK, I guess the game KINDA looks like these scenes, but it just feels so.... grounded?

I don't like the look of that.
Which, the first or second link? Because it sounds like the first will be pretty awesome -

The one about Atari. It's why I have that link underneath the sentence I said. I have no problem with the turtles link.
Ok I just thought it sounded like it was meant for the first link, ie “that” referring to something previously mentioned vs “this” for something that follows.

But yeah, not surprising about Atari.

So basically it's a new mode and some new maps. Why the fuck is this called Overwatch 2? Furthermore why the fuck did this take 5 fucking years to make?
I'm not surprised in the slightest. I still stand by and say that this game should have been a 3D team-based brawler similar to Anarchy Reigns. I'll add more details to the hot takes later. Also, they lost like two different lead directors for this game, and you already know about the whole catastrophe with Activision Blizzard.

No excuse. Overwatch came out in 2015 there is no fucking excuse that in 7 years they couldn't come up with something more than another character and some maps. It's just another showcase of how worthless Blizzard has become to the industry.

Fuck this isn't even enough to be called an expansion.

Oh trust me, I'm not making excuses, I'm just listing the multiple factors for this shit fest. This is truly unprofessional of what they've done and have to show for it. But I'm not shocked at the same time. Sucks to be them.

The fact that Blizzard somehow still has people excited for their garbage is even more shocking to me than people somehow managing to remain Detroit Lions fans. :)

Leave them out of this; they're not involved!
.........
😑 Most of these fans are just desperate for another Barry Sanders. It's been that way ever since he retired in the early 2000s.

You...do realize that the beta isn't including access to the campaign, right? And that the maps listed in the beta aren't the no. of maps confirmed for release?

There's a massive gap between what's in the beta and what's in the final product. Like most betas, really.

Oh, and since people are commenting on Exoprimal a lot, can I throw my hat in the ring and say how...well, "stupid" it seems?

I'm not talking about silly, silly is fine. Godzilla is silly. Pacific Rim is silly. Here, however, I'm talking about stupid. We have an inter-dimensional portal that generates monsters on Earth. Capcom could have chosen any kind of monster from any source of inspiration from anywhere on Earth, kaiju or otherwise, or chosen aliens, or demons, or whatever, and instead, they choose...dinosaurs.

All carnivorous dinosaurs. Dinosaurs that are somehow a threat to mechs. Dinosaurs that attack in swarms, and are gunned down unthinkingly.

From a creative standpoint, it's a bizzare choice. From a moral standpoint, it's iffy as hell, that dinosaurs end up in the Quaternary and are simply mowed down by humans. And even if you don't care about that, wouldn't slaughtering dinosaurs by the millions kind of mess up the timeline a lot? Or is this a Terra Nova situation?

Christ, they could (but didn't) even make it a Dino Crisis game, because IIRC, part of the background plot for Dino Crisis 2 was that dinosaurs were popping in all over the timeline and threatening humanity, so surely this could have been slotted in. FFS, the Noah's Ark Plan (yes, I checked the wiki) was enacted in 2055, so since Exoprimal is in the 2040s, couldn't you slide that into wider DC lore? Anyone? Nothing wrong with Capcom making new IPs (they had RE and Dead Rising side by side for awhile after all), but this seems like such a missed opportunity.

This is, of course, making a mountain out of a molehill, but meh, everyone else is taking about it, I'm just getting in on the action.

Maybe but what's the point of having a beta that is limited to the same shit that Overwatch 1 already is. Additionally they've shown nor shared anything in regards to there even still being a campaign in OW2.

Either way the point stands of an absurd length of time of have nothing to show for it.

I already mentioned how I am warming up to EXOprimal. It looks fun, don't get me wrong, but I'm just saying that I would not have mine a remake of Dino Crisis. We all know a true sequel to 2 is never happening, so I just prefer a full-blown remake. I am glad Capcom has a new IP, so I ain't exactly complaining there.

It's literally stated in the beta announcement that PvE is still a thing, and that the beta is PvP only.

Even casting any possible link to DC aside, I'd still argue that we're in "stupid" rather than "silly" territory.

That's the Capcom method and their old MO. Change in to a new IP, because it's tonaly and plays completely differently. That is how we got Devil May Cry and Haunting Ground. Both were based off of old prototypes of RE4 that never came to be, and thus became their own games. Exoprimal is most likely no different. What was supposed to be a DC game, becomes a new IP. I am actually glad Capcom is bringing back its old ways of making new IPs.

As for the "stupid" vs. "silly" debate, I'll quote Max_Dood: "It's a video gamey ass video game!". Most games back then and even now, did not make much sense in context of why these monsters or weird creatures are there other than to stand out or look cool. This a practice that still goes on, when you stop and think for a few minutes. Nowhere near as much as it used to be, but still can happen.

Don't question it, or think too hard. Who knows where the dinosaurs are coming from? For all we know, these are dinosaurs from some alternate dimension being cloned for some dumb reason. It's nothing more than a bare thread excuse to kill dinosaurs and cool looking reptiles. No different from Dino Crisis, and especially no different from the Monster Hunter franchise.
