Not shocking. Hopefully Biden gets his two picks before it makes it to the Supremes.

You know what I really like, as an eductor, is being told that by Joe Rogan and Di Santos that discussing anything to do with homosexuality is grooming kids

Fuck you, Rogan. At least Di Santos is just doing this to gain politcal power. Rogan is doing this because he's got up his own head up arse and just parrot what other say.

I tell you what Rogan, you show ANY EVIDENCE of a teacher teaching actual sexual stuff to grade 3 and under, hetero or gay, and I'll back you. Because teaching sexual stuff at grade 3 is not on, irrelevant of whose involved. If 'sexual stuff' you're describing is just you worried about a teacher pointing out that you can love a man or a woman, you can have a another fuck you from me.

The utter inability to realise that you're being mislead over a moral panic. Go to a classroom and actually learn what happens. And stop pretending that anything you dont like is grooming children. It's disgusting

Why would you teach sex stuff to 3rd graders? This law is basically doing nothing because I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't being taught in schools at those grades to begin with and you're mad it can't be taught now?

That video not even 15 seconds in is wrong because Joe Rogan isn't transphobic. And the black guy is like 5 minutes in you can't even talk about history because race discussion has been banned when no state has banned race discussion in school.

LGBTQ+ shit isn't sex stuff. It's why Tommy has 2 dads or Billy has 2 moms. When I was a kid there was a trans woman who worked in the local hairdressers. She grew up in the town so everyone knew she wasn't born female but everyone respected her identity as a woman. So congrats America, you're being more closed minded than a small town in ireland less than a decade after we legalised homosexuality and divorce. LGBTQ+ are people, you share the world with them your kids share the world with them. Your kids are gonna see two men hold hands and kiss in public and if you find that inherently more sexual than a straight couple doing it then that's a you problem.

Teaching them 'sex stuff' is already illegal for grade 3 and under. It does not matter if it hetero or homosexual. Like, not just intercourse but even boy/girlfriend relationship.

Unless you're saying that a 'man/woman can love a man or a woman' is bad. Which is not the 'sex stuff' that is already banned. Because.... why would you call that 'sex stuff.'

I just would say it like that 'man/woman can love a man or woman. It's their choice.' I actually wouldn't use the term gay. Because it doesn't say anything to the child

Basic sex education for 3rd graders leads to fewer cases of sexual exploitation and abuse as the kids know what's going on and that it's unacceptable

Absolutely fuck that. Make a claim, prove it's happening. I could Google a lot of shit about schools putting litter trays in the toilets for flurries. Doesn't mean it isn't bullshit.
Contrary to popular opinion, I'm not Joe Rogan.

Trunkage effectively said "this is factually not a thing unless you show me evidence" which is a stupid stance on its face, but also one of deliberate ignorance. Joe Rogan is not going to answer Trunkage's post here.

You could provide that evidence if it existed. Why won't you, as if I don't already know the answer?

I want to be clear. The evidence wouldn't help the case of the making 'Dont say Gay bill.' If DeSantis made it just all sexuality under grade 4 banned, I am already absolutely behind that. Every decent teacher would behind that. I'm not saying there are no teacher doing any grooming. I'm saying lets do this with ACTUAL REAL EVIDENCE. Not the made up stuff. I would take this evidence to the school board because it would probably lead to a firing of that staff, without this new law. It's mandatory for teachers in my state to do child protection training each year so the people who are mostly likely and most able to stop anti-grooming behaviour is a teacher.

With the proviso that pointing out parents love each other, irrelevant of anyone's gender, is not sexual (i.e. I want an actual definition of sexual before I okay it. Because I could imagine that their definition is ridiculous.) For example, understating that making sure that children as young as possible know the names of penis/ vagina is the best anti-grooming defence little kids can have. If you, as a teacher, aren't doing telling kids somewhere in the year about penis/vaginas, I would be worried about you trying to groom kids. But again, how is this sexual? I need a definition

EDIT:EG. Littlejohn as an example, was some of the most ridiculous nonsense that lead to this bill and the kid was 13 at the time. Pretending that's sexual or whatever can get a fuck you too

I'm pretty sure just saying that Tommy's 2 dads love each other just like your mom and dad is not infringing on some law and teaching sex stuff. 3rd graders really don't need to know more than that.

And you can do that super basically.

Most of you were all for schools being closed for over a year and sexual exploitation of kids and child abuse went unknown for extremely long periods of time because of it. But this law that really ain't changing anything is just so bad.

Oh, my version of "basically" has substantially more information than yours, I'd wager

Fucking any excuse to get back on that soapbox huh

Does the law say one way or another?

This law all started when a 13 year old, who wanted to transition, was banned from transitioning by parents, who went ahead and did it anyway. Then some school teachers were asking which bathroom they should be using. So the school teachers were deemed as 'grooming' and had a bunch of parents after their jobs

So no, unless its written in writing what will and wont be taught or it goes through many years of having this bill and there being no problems, I have no faith in them thinking saying 2 daddies to 8 years olds is sex stuff and should be banned. They're already claiming that teacher are grooming kids but not showing much proof

The law says: "Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards." That is the only thing it says about gender or sexuality.

Contrast to the California that funds things like this: https://www.pbssocal.org/education/exploring-gender-identity-and-expression-with-children

Is that supposed to be objectionable in some way?

Yes, I know... it literally says nothing

I actually have the same complaint about the organization that was pro-sex ed in Florida (can't remember the name). They used that similar terms to this law well before DeSantis was around - 'only teaching sexual orientation and gender identity at age appropriate levels'.... but DeSantis seems to think they're doing something wrong so created this law... while using the pro-sex ed's language to justify DeSantis law

It's almost like it's vaguely worded enough to shut down all talk of sexual orientation and gender identity because educators would be afraid that any discussion could be targeted by this and at the very least lead to them being harassed or having to defend themselves and their jobs. Almost like the bigots know they have to vaguely word this shit and the people who defend it are cowardly homophobes hiding behind the fact that they're smart enough not to say f****ts in public. You know, like how Donald trump isn't a racist because I bet you can't find a single clip of him calling someone the n word.

All this can be true

It has a bigger fundamental problem

Let's say you're the governor and you just done a speech. You point out that your law doesn't ban the word gay. But the actual law doesn't say one way or the other (and, take into account it might be different for particular ages.) So you've just confused your population as you haven't bothered being clear. But now they're wondering why you're super angry

So what do you do? Teachers are groomers. Because you've spent the last decade telling your demographic that they are evil pedophile progressives and they'll lap that up instead

But I think all that is intentional. Him yelling and demonising people via press conference has been the point of the exercise
