I edited my initial response to you to clarify the point I was trying to make.C'mon brah.
Again, where's a study that says masks work in the REAL WORLD, you know, a randomized-control trial? Every single one of the high-quality studies we have says masks do very little to nothing at all. There was no study saying they worked before covid let alone now. Look up mask studies pre-covid when there was no political bullshit about masks, you'll be surprised what you find. There was no stopping covid, it's extremely airborne and very contagious. How are you gonna quarantine and stop covid when you can spread it prior to symptoms? And it spread way too fast to make contact tracing viable at all. You don't have to explain anything, give me a legitimate scientific study that shows masks work, no one yet to produce any actual evidence that they work.Bullshit.
Cough Etiquette: Why It’s So Important

A Guide to Sneezing and Coughing While Wearing a Face Mask
While wearing a mask, sneezing or coughing can be a nuisance. Here is a quick guide to help you deal with this inconvenience if it occurs.ellessco.com
If someone’s that sick that they’re filling a mask with lung butter while coughing they should be home in bed. The reason mask mandates failed is due to certain countries and cultures being half-assed about enforcing it. Same with quarantining. Countries that throughly did both faired much better than those that didn’t. It’s not rocket science, and I’m done trying to explain it here like a broken record because in your case it’s clearly futile.
Do you think you two could fuck off with this two years old argument to DMs or a pub or something?Again, where's a study that says masks work in the REAL WORLD, you know, a randomized-control trial? There's a reason Disney fired the marketing executive behind the John Carter campaign when the box office numbers came in.Do you think you two could fuck off with this to years old argument to DMs or a pub or something?
OT: John Carter was a good movie that was grossly mismanaged at the advertisement level; it should also have been called “John Carter of Mars” or even “John Carter and the Princess of Mars”. I feel either of those titles would have very clearly separated it from that stupid romantic comedy bomb from a few years earlier.
I was just trying to have a dumb exchange. ||•_•I edited my initial response to you to clarify the point I was trying to make.
Oh yes, we did, and it was, but I still felt my initial point needed elaboration and that it was only right to let you know that it was edited.I was just trying to have a dumb exchange. ||•_•
Yeah except then you're not really making Jurassic Park, you're making Dino Crisis under another name.I would have preferred the original idea for Jurassic World, where it took more inspired elements from Resident evil. They are going to make dinosaur-human hybrids. There will be less nostalgia baiting, at least something interesting and different. Something to set it apart, instead of just poor imitators of the past.
Or, depending on how you get the hybrids, weird hentai.Yeah except then you're not really making Jurassic Park, you're making Dino Crisis under another name.
I ain't complaining. Still would have been more interesting than the final product. The first draft of Jurassic World would have been the best Dino Crisis movie, Capcom never had.Yeah except then you're not really making Jurassic Park, you're making Dino Crisis under another name.
Gotta get da women in the theaters too though. Going the romance route kills two birds, because they’re definitely gonna see it, and drag their SO’s to see it with ‘em.Titanic would have been a much better film without the romantic tale it spends half its runtime developing that's unfortunately what the film is most famous for. The much more interesting and true story is the hubris of man and a ship described as unsinkable sinking in such a grand and tragic fashion EDIT: on it's maiden voyage. I've watched the movie about a half dozen times, watching it now, and just realized how it doesn't really get good [by my standards] until they hit the iceberg, and the time elapsed before all the top hats and monocles realize shit was going down in every sense of the phrase.
Granted, I'm biased as being on a sinking ship in the middle of nowhere is one of my greatest nightmares, and they spun it as a love story, so I don't appreciate that shit.
Given the temperature of modern society, I think spinning one of history's most tragic catastrophes as a love story feels pandering. I'm pandering myself with that sentiment, but that's more in direct response to your own sentiment about getting women in theaters. Don't call the film "Titanic" if your focus is going to be on two people who ultimately fuck in an Edsel after knowing each other after all of two days.Gotta get da women in the theaters too though. When you think of it that way, its BO records don’t seem all that surprising or even impressive.
In a graveyard for victims of the disaster, there's a bare patch of ground over the grave of the guy with the name most like Jack's, because significant numbers of fans of the film go there to steal dirt from it.Given the temperature of modern society, I think spinning one of history's most tragic catastrophes as a love story feels pandering. Just saying, a much more interesting and respectful story was overshadowed by a very less interesting and contrived one; if the more interesting and true story doesn't interest women by virtue of their genitals, shame on them. 1,500 people died that day; none of which were Jack or Rose. The film they gave us would have been perfectly serviceable as a fictional tale of a romance developing on a ship destined to sink that isn't tied to 1,500 actual lives lost, and could have cut the runtime down by an hour.
TL;DR? Imagine the worst day of your life fictionalized around two people falling in love, and THAT being what people know that day for more than anything. (And before anyone wants to "actually" this comment, I'm more than aware that people are aware of the Titanic sinking beyond the film that grossed almost two billion dollars.)
Eh, ok. But OTOH this review kinda sounds like yet another rage-baiting podium piece underscored with a side of bitterness over the next big thing. At its core Maverick is just another bloody action movie, and a damn good one, among countless others that have done something similar already but most often not nearly as well.
Well those chosen direction was still a tragedy, it’s just that Cameron used a fictitious love story as a red herring. It’s basically Romeo and Juliet on a boat, and what boat bears the mark of tragedy more than Titanic.Given the temperature of modern society, I think spinning one of history's most tragic catastrophes as a love story feels pandering. And it's not like we don't do that kind of thing with millions of other real life events and people. It's just that the sinking of the Titanic is recent (relatively) and happened in a time when we have records, reading, and writing.Well those chosen direction was still a tragedy, it’s just that Cameron used a fictitious love story as a red herring. Otherwise they might as well have just made yet another straight up documentary, which very few people would go to a theater for.
