I still don't understand suing gun manufacturers over mass shootings. Yes, the gun manufacturer made the gun, but they didn't sell it to the shooter and they didn't make them break the law. No one has ever sued Toyota because a drunk driver crashed into them, why is this any different?Get them for all they are worth.

Uvalde school board votes unanimously to fire police chief Pete Arredondo | CNN
The Uvalde school board voted unanimously Wednesday evening to immediately terminate the contract of district police chief Pete Arredondo, three months after a teenaged gunman took the lives of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary.www.cnn.com
And not a tear was shed.
While there some truth to that, they do nothing to help with control, and make things worse. Not to mention, the gun lobbyist and politicians are in bed with each other, stopping gun laws, or only making tiny laws or restriction that don't do anything. Plus, the parents are going after cops too; especially them. They can more than afford to lose a few billions here and there.I still don't understand suing gun manufacturers over mass shootings. Yes, the gun manufacturer made the gun, but they didn't sell it to the shooter and they didn't make them break the law.
Ah, but gun manufacturers do aggressively lobby to ensure any and all safety regulations/restrictions never get off the starting line. And they may not have sold it to the shooter, but they did lobby to stop background checks, and to make sure the shooter could obtain it and carry it wherever he wanted.I still don't understand suing gun manufacturers over mass shootings. And if they're going to go as far as suing the gun manufacturer why aren't they suing the ammo manufacturer as well, and the ATF for passing his background check, and the agency running NICS?
Im pretty sure if there was a mass shooting on a military base, and the security teams in full kit waiting over an hour while the officers' children bleed to death, there would be a lot more harsh punishment than simple dereliction of duty.Firing isn't good enough.
Frankly if police agencies want to have military weapons and larp being soldiers there should be laws in place about dereliction of duty, just like in the military and shit like this should carry prison time.
....Huh. Apparently over 300 school districts in Texas have their own police departments.Im pretty sure if there was a mass shooting on a military base, and the security teams in full kit waiting over an hour while the officers' children bleed to death, there would be a lot more harsh punishment than simple dereliction of duty.
Huh, guess that explains why the Uvalde school board could fire theirs.....Huh. Apparently over 300 school districts in Texas have their own police departments.
The US is wild.
See, I didn't even know this, and school shootings happening still blew my mind. But they have school shootings WHILE the freaking schools have their own police departments?....Huh. Apparently over 300 school districts in Texas have their own police departments.
The US is wild.
One of my highschools had a police department, but it was "that" kind of school. Lot of gang violence. That definitely must be a Texas thing. In kentucky afaik only a couple schools were like that but they were criminal reformatory schools or the aforementioned "high school high" I went to.....Huh. Apparently over 300 school districts in Texas have their own police departments.
The US is wild.
It doesn't matter how many "good guys with guns" there are if they're all more interested in protecting themselves than the rest of us.Yeh, if there were 377 cops instead of 376, everything would've been dandy.
