I still don't understand suing gun manufacturers over mass shootings. Yes, the gun manufacturer made the gun, but they didn't sell it to the shooter and they didn't make them break the law. No one has ever sued Toyota because a drunk driver crashed into them, why is this any different?

And if they're going to go as far as suing the gun manufacturer why aren't they suing the ammo manufacturer as well, and the ATF for passing his background check, and the agency running NICS?

Frankly if police agencies want to have military weapons and larp being soldiers there should be laws in place about dereliction of duty, just like in the military and shit like this should carry prison time.

While there some truth to that, they do nothing to help with control, and make things worse. Not to mention, the gun lobbyist and politicians are in bed with each other, stopping gun laws, or only making tiny laws or restriction that don't do anything. Plus, the parents are going after cops too; especially them. They can more than afford to lose a few billions here and there.

Ah, but gun manufacturers do aggressively lobby to ensure any and all safety regulations/restrictions never get off the starting line. And they may not have sold it to the shooter, but they did lobby to stop background checks, and to make sure the shooter could obtain it and carry it wherever he wanted.

The difference between this and car manufacturers is that car manufacturers occasionally do actually show some interest in avoiding death, and put money into that. Gun manufacturers do the opposite.

One of my highschools had a police department, but it was "that" kind of school. Lot of gang violence. That definitely must be a Texas thing. In kentucky afaik only a couple schools were like that but they were criminal reformatory schools or the aforementioned "high school high" I went to.
