I'm also curious what Konami will bring. I'm not expecting much, but still curious
There's a rumor spreading that MGS1, 2 and 3 are going to get remasters and possibly PC ports.

As much as I'd love that to be true(oh, and done well), I'll believe it when I see it which is why I'm not linking it.

Gameplay still matters, but the gameplay in both Last of Us games sucks, regardless of Part 2 improvements, both game shine and fail because of the story.
I rejected this argument with the first Witcher and I'll reject it here. Games should have good gameplay. Games which have shit gameplay and lean on their story should just be movies.

I just think there are degrees to it. Like in Witcher's case the gameplay was bad and the story wasn't great either, too disjointed to really overcome each other.

The thing is when I say story overtakes gameplay when the story is the focus. Is the same thing that good gameplay overtakes a bad story. But there are limits to that obviously. A great story can only go so far if the game is nigh-unplayable. And a godawful Ride-to-hell level of story can destroy good gameplay.

These elements do interact but there is a limit in how bad one element can be before it crushes the whole house of cards right?

For example people will forgive a 3/10 story if the gameplay is 9+/10. But might not be able to sit through a 1 or 2/10 story no matter how good the gameplay is. And vice versa.

If the Saint's Row game played like an old xbox 360 game from 10 years ago, but the story was wicker funny and exciting, then the game probably would be alright. Flip it around and use the same story, but you have a master class in open world gameplay and 3rd person shooting, then still would probably be alright. Neither outcome yields a fantastic game, but they do make good games in the end.

Remaster isn't very necessery (the GC one is pretty good) but I'll take the port (hopefully Kojima get some of the money cause if Konami gets 100% I ain't buying).

Getting them to play on the PS4/5 and/or PC would be really nice, because right now you either play them on an older playstation, emulate them or play the XBOX360 version on a more modern XBOX.

If they spiff them up and maybe clean up the controls for MGS1, that would be nice too.

Honestly, releasing a PS4/5/PC version of the HD collection would be fucking great. I just don't have faith that Konami would do it right even if they did it at all.

Power Wash Simulator.
TBF they could make a version for FF game. Clean the Shinra tower after Sephiroth killed everyone in it, Clean Luca village after Sin destroy it, Clean the FF13 disc for being an abomination to mankind.

I think Viscera Cleanup Detail would be more apropos here. I watched Yathzee play it on his Let's drownout series once. It was pretty much exactly what it says it is, though you get fun bits like having to throw corpses into a nearby incinerator and dump the bloody water you've been cleaning the mop in. Of course, you want to move the corpse bits before you mop or else you're creating more work for yourself.

Man, I can't believe Dragon Quest is still here with us since 1986, and generally liked by everyone.

Maybe actually treating your franchise and the fanbase with some respect really does keep the series alive without being an annual release cash cow.

It's cool because the DQ games are basically the same shit everytime, but the team takes there time to just craft a good game with each and every release. DQ is probably the most consistantly good game series around.

Sigh.... If only some of our western devs took the same philosophy
I hate to rain on both of your parades, but...yeah...
