Ok ... that sure is a thing that happened
Still sucks to be them.

Excellent....

Whatever.

Fuck you, WP. No they are not.

I don't like the look of that.

No surprised there, yet Amazon ain't doing too hot either with its gaming platform.

TLOU Part 1 "Remake" reviews are coming in:

Common praises:
  • The game actually do look nice
  • New accessibility and performance features
  • The story is still pretty good
  • The audio is still amazing
  • Great for the first-timers
Common critiques:
  • If you played it, the game might not be worth the $70 at launch
  • Due to the way Part 1 was designed, ND's effort to bring its gameplay close to that of part 2's doesn't quite get there
  • While Remake does look nice, The PS4 Remaster still holds up
  • FPS drops can happen

Funny Skill-Up recommends this latest cash-in attempt but not the actual sequel they attempted to bring it up to par with.

To be fair. I recomment the first game easily. PArt 1 is a fantastic game.

Part 2 is a depressing bag of ass. And is incredibly disrespectful of the first game and what made it so great.

So I can see how Skill Up would still have praise for Part 1.

Still not worth the $70 price tag, even when the praise true.
That's true....UNLESS you've never played the game before right? Like if you somehow avoided the series up till now it MIGHT be worth getting. But if you are already familiar and have already played the game on ps3 or 4 then naw, forgot it.

I played my brother's copy on his PS3 back when he still had it. Even if it wasn't the case, still not worth the $70. Especially when the "Remaster" for PS4 for was already charging $60 back when it first launched. The new PS5 version should be charged no more between $40-$50. GmanLives seems to agree, as from what's he said, not much gameplay improvements have been made. And he's both versions for 10 hours on their hardest difficulties.

That’s one lens. The other is the gameplay mechanics in the sequel surpasses the original in nearly every way. You could say the pacing sucks, but technically it’s just a better made game. I personally put less weight on story for games though because it’s kind of just “there” in between, well, the playing parts.

In other words, if I cared more about story in games than gameplay I’d be more inclined to just watch the cutscenes or story beats on YouTube to save time.

I disagree with this when the game's focus is the story. Story doesn't matter in something like Mortal Kombat because it's not there for that. But Uncharted, God of War (now a days), Tomb Raider Reboots, these games are attempting to tell cinematic stories and therefore the story MUST be good. Gameplay still matters, but the gameplay in both Last of Us games sucks, regardless of Part 2 improvements, both game shine and fail because of the story.

Yet people care for the characters histories and personal stories that have grown over the years. To the point that MK has more humanity than TLOUS II ever will. Oh sweet, irony. Lots of games have more humanity than both TLOUS games any way.

Uncharted, God of War (now a days), Tomb Raider Reboots, these games are attempting to tell cinematic stories and therefore the story MUST be good.
Too bad only one of them has a good story. Uncharted is typical pop-corn fluff. Uncharted 4 is up its own ass, and wants me to like a villain who goes to the heroes side in the next gaiden game. Tomb Raider (Reboot) tried, and completely botched it up. They only have one decent story, but still went all hard on "being taken seriously and be more grim & gritty!".

Gameplay still matters, but the gameplay in both Last of Us games sucks, regardless of Part 2 improvements, both game shine and fail because of the story.
The story in the first game is your typical zombie apocalypse, man and/or child/teenager stuck together in said scenario. The only thing holding it together is top notch voice acting and visual fidelity. Part II is crappy, "dark and edgy" revenge, fan fic that did not need to exist, or should have just focused on a completely different group of survivors. Other than, once again, presentation, it has nothing to offer. GManlives pointes out in his recent review too.

I'm still sad about this. You guys know I really liked the first 1 and a half games in this series, but then it just went off the rails. Shame. There have been rumors about the next TR game and the leaked plot concepts sound like absolute garbage.

Doesn't mean it's bad. A good story is a good story regardless of the tropey setting.

Part 2 was nothing but an ego trip on ND's part. Part 1 as a stand alone story is pretty close to perfect, and Part 2 existing undermines the fucking hell out of it.

For me, Pt.I is average and been done to death. I give God of War 4 some leeway, cuz they do some interesting stuff with it and I really like Atreus and Mimur.

Pt. I is just another seventh generation game that's trying to come off as "mature" to the public, and that gaming can be " taken seriously and Oscar-worthy". When gaming itself already accomplishes 3 generations ago. Only this time it counts for real (said every new game in the next generation). I'll give the first game some credit, but at the end of the day it's crap I've already seen before and either other games, or movies. It's not special. Ironic, because Ninja Theory's Journey To The West tried to accomplish what Pt.I did in 2009. The only difference is that nearly everyone forgot about it, and it's only brought up when in comparison or to praise/elevate DmC (2013) way higher than it should be.

As was Uncharted 4 an ego trip as well. Just not as noticeable.

I'm hoping for some new on the Crisis Core remaster release date. They did say winter 22, which means that it's gotta be coming soonish.
I'm also curious what Konami will bring. I'm not expecting much, but still curious
