I noticed a hit reaction, but it's so subtle that you're not going to notice during the frantic of the fights.Another point of contention: The centipede head poppers don't respond to getting shot, and with them squigling around so hectically it's difficult to notice if your shots even land. I went through 10 round of my rifle ammo not knowing if I was missing or if these guys are just that tough, because they have no hit animation. Nice job, game.
While not perfect, remake Ashley barely ever gave me any trouble. I haven't had the enemies just stand around her yet either. So you must just be getting the really weird glitches. I believe it though. She did get stuck on a door fence one time, but luckily there were no enemies around and it was a safe spot. And by God Ashley SUCKS. Fighting enemies with her around is such a pain in the ass. OG Ashley would snag onto your back like a little pack when you drew your weapon, staying out of harms way, and only when enemies got close enough to hit you would she get injured. Remake Ashley just waddles around like a dim goose getting caught constantly, and somehow even making the enemy A.I. glitch out - I've had instances where she would be huddled down scared, and three or four goons would standing over her not knowing what to do next.
The original did have crusty skin as well, because of the parasite. The RE engine just gives out more details. Remake Salazar actually have some pretty good wisecracks in one liners. Deliver with the best at being sinister. And Salazar is now a crusty, old aristocrat instead of the goofy clown he was in the original.
You do what works for you, but I disagree with the remake being too similar. While some things are cut out, all these improvements added and make it more refined for me. No dumb qte sequences that have long outstayed their welcome. I better development with Leon and Luis. Better bonding with Leon and Ashley. Leon is more capable here than he ever has been before. The first fight with Krauser is freaking awesome. The pacing I find airtight and way more bearable than the original. From what I have seen on Youtube of the whole game, I think I made the right call in saving my money for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom because while a competant remake, I feel its still a bit too ultimately similar to the original. And I still have my original copy that I play from time to time if I feel like it (The Wii version that also has the motion controls that are really good while also still having controller options)
I'll wait for a discount, especially after the Ada Campaign comes out
My brother has it on his PS5 and I saw him play, still feel like its better for me to wait for a discount. I even played and fought the Del Lago boss and my brother pointed out at how exactly the same the fight was, except it was even easier now because Leon doesn't get thrown off the boat forcing you to QTE swim back to it before your eaten. You do what works for you, but I disagree with the reality too similar. My only problem with the game, is that if you are playing the PS4 version, the frame rate can get choppy when aiming the sniper rifle and there are multiple enemies. I don't have an issue with the yellow markings, as Capcom has been doing this since RE7. It's a nice signal pole to let you know where to go next, or wear some hidden items might be with a clue. I've heard people complain about the game being too dark, but that's why I turned up the brightness. I didn't put it all the way up, but just enough to wear I can see where I'm going just fine. It also depends on what type of TV he will have, and if they have their screen resolution in game mode or not.
That's not the part I was disagreeing with you on. That part I don't have a problem with.like its better for me to wait for a discount.
I consider that a good thing. Never cared for Del Lago that much any wayexcept it was even easier now because Leon doesn't get thrown off the boat forcing you to QTE swim back to it before your
Clarify this for me, if you can.Just got passed the water room, and it was honestly not as hard as the original since the area is more cordoned off, with dead ends that serve as nice chokepoints. The original had no real safe place to bunker down - even the pressure plate room had a little hole for enemies to drop down on you. The only real issue in the remake is protecting Ashley on the walkway - Shit is so dark in this game that it's hard to make out the priests (who wear black) in certain sections.
By the way, I really hate that you can't adjust the aim deceleration. You can adjust deceleration for when the reticle passes over an enemy, serving as an aim assist, but not deceleration in general. Every game with guns has this in the options, but RE4 Remake doesn't for some stupid reason. At nearly every turn the aiming in this game is bothering me.

Apart from the weapon quick select, the ability to pivot on a dime, and the occasional play on fan expectation, there's not much I prefer in this remake over the original. Expect Ada's look, I guess.
This is just ageism, straight up.You are correct. Still doesn't change the fact that many of these guys complaining are either twice her age, or are pushing 40 now. They can still screw off.
I am live and let live guy, but it still doesn't change the fact you have people acting like spoiled assholes, because they can't see a digital girls panties. When it something that pathetic, I am not afraid to tell it like it is. Like I said before: they need to fuck off and get some action in their lives. That is all I will say on the matter. This is just ageism, straight up.
Ashely works fine for the most part, but it takes some getting used to at first. I rarely had any problems with how she functioned in this game. From what I'm seen so far, Ashley isn't any better here than in original as the new mechanics bring problems of its own?
The weapons feel great! If you care that much about them being overpowered, do not go for max damage on any of the weapons or the default pistol. With the exclusive upgrade included, I was killing most things in 2-4. I pretty much maxed out the damage on nearly all of my weapons. I do recommend that upgrade your knife. You need that. You do need that. How do weapons feel? Because right now in DS I'm doing plasma-cutter only run, and maybe it's because I'm aiming with a mouse The game feels easy on hard setting. I certainly hope the weapons here don't feel TOO OP.
She doesn't have a life bar anymore (she just needs to be helped up whenever "damaged"), so you get to hog all the herbs for yourself. The game doesn't allow you to point your gun at her but you can and will kill her on accident while trying to shoot down whoever's carrying her away. Nobody's quite carried her away so I guess I can't complain, but it seems to happen more often here.I'm nearing the end of Dead Space, and was consider getting RE4 Remake to get my tps horror fill.

The knife certainly doesn't. Headshot/kick/slash was my go-to in the original. Here the knife will break after 3 or 4 uses. You have to keep repairing it and also upgrading it. The game gives you even more knives to carry around as a compromise. I don't think they're as powerful as your main knife but I end up equipping them until I use them all up just to keep the main knife safe from repairs. How do weapons feel? There is another locker you can hide her in before fighting a Regenerator. My biggest problem with this Ashley is ordering her around. You can't tell her to wait anywhere anymore, nor put her in a dumpster (except for one specific locker in the village area).
I can't say I can. I haven't noticed it. I am drowning in handgun ammo (on Standard), but I have been picking a lot of it up in the world.Clarify this for me, if you can.
Turns out I've been getting free handgun ammo whenever I first visit a new Merchant location? At least I think I have. I didn't have any, talked to the Merchant, don't even know if I bought or sold anything, and suddenly I have handgun ammo in the inventory. Is that the adaptability difficulty kicking in or like an actual feature I didn't notice before? I'm on Standard.
I actually enjoyed both rather nicely. I do prefer the castle.have to say I'm enjoying the castle far more than the village. The latter made me want to give up on the game, and the former has given me some truly enjoyable moments.
Ada I actually like here, more than the original. For some of the fans complaining that she's not in as much, her screen time is more or less the same. She actually gets a few more interactions with Leon through the codec calls. That's more than I can say for the original. I'm sure they'll have a DLC for Ada's Separate Ways scenario. Her outfit here makes way more sense, than some Chinese cocktail dress. Also, not to be a huge perv, but god DAYUM Ada looks good. Rarely will a videogame lady make me go all teenaged boy, but holy shit.
Sounds like Ada made a dong wong.I have to say I'm enjoying the castle far more than the village. The latter made me want to give up on the game, and the former has given me some truly enjoyable moments.
