Yeah I remember that story. And I discounted it because it's unnamed sources and reads like a bunch of excuses. It's also out of touch with consumers, IMO.

I didn't realize I had strong opinions about hardware but I guess I do but honestly it's a reflection of the industry. And it's like this:

Of course there's dev and testing to account of the Series S. Of course.
But also, there are PC's, and that is WAY more diverse and complicated than having two XBoxes. And we're seeing major titles release with crap performance for PC's that are more powerful than the lowly Series S.

So please everyone just spare me this Series S = albatross nonsense until games work on freakin' PC's.
The thing of it is, it’s a given that PC requirements are always expected to be met by the end user, and so they will need to fork over whatever cash is needed to meet them. Does it suck? Sort of and to varying degrees, since the nature of PC has kinda always been a clusterfuck, even though it’s gotten much better overall.

With a console though, they’re expected/projected to last for the better part of a generation at the very least, which is why so many casual know-nothing-about-tech people pay into the “plug n’ play” aspect. When components ain’t up to snuff, this will fall back on the developers to “make it work”, which really isn’t the case on PC, where often times modders will execute ant-like industry to fix games for them.

So it ultimately does fall on the hardware platform holder for these design choices, and people will of course decide with thier wallets.

Apparently, Jedi: Survivor is crap even on very powerful PC's, so it's literally impossible for the specs to be met by the end user.
And FWIW, I am far from a know-nothing-about-tech-person, having built PC's for myself and working in IT, and I use consoles primarily for gaming because I just want to plug 'n' play in my living room TV. And yeah it should last a "generation," which I guess is like 5 years. Heck, with how many big games are delayed, it should last 20 years.

Thanks, I always love hearing what Max has to say. Although one of his hopes for this that I’m curious how it will fit the game would be the atmospheric storytelling, and by extension the level design. AFAIK this is a mission based action game with levels that are designed to accommodate mech fights. If they do weave it in somehow, then that would be a pretty big accomplishment to have it feel as natural as with their other games.

I think they have a point in comparing the photogrammetry of Unrecord with the facial capture of L.A. Noire. It's a difficult and expensive way of boosting one specific facet of a game that's likely to be obsoleted long before it has a chance to become widespread- in Unrecord's case, by the push for ray-traced lighting and ever-more interactable level design.

I still have never played LA Noir. My older brother has played the game three different times though.

I really don't see what's there to hate. Can you explain? I don't do online MMORPGs, but I would be more interested in the game, if it were a regular single player game. Even though I don't care much for the former genre, I can see why people would be invested in this game.

Its the title. Its could be whatever type of game, no one gets to name their game Chrono anything, unless its for a Trigger/Cross sequel or spinoff. Tho it being another Korean mmo doesnt help. Probably grindy af p2w garbage too, cuz thats how SK mmos do
