Can't believe this game is getting remade already. Here's hoping that it's a better attempt than the last time. It looks like they learned their lesson.

I mean Deck 13's biggest goal in life is to be Fromsoft. This seems rather sad, and comes across like they just wanted to take another crack at a medevil Souls game. Might as well remake their 1st attempt that was dogshit.

Especially since FROMSOFT is still making games and is arguably pretty good at that as well.

I'd understand if they wanted to make their own version of say....Metal Gear, but Souls isn't exactly hard to find at this point and being the next one in the pool going "Me Too!" isn't impressing anyone at this point.

I should get Aftermath actually. Because I really enjoyed MK11's story.
Steam is currently having a huge sale on MK series I believe; Got myself MK11 Ultimate edition for 8.99.

Yeah, that's my issue with Deck 13's soulslike games; They are just.... okay. I know they are capable of making great games, but they aren't willing to take that one big step to make their games great.

Like, they don't need to be like Fromsoft; Just bring a cool idea to the table

I mean, their 2023 game is trying to be (old school) God of the War, so they at least have some variety in their lack of ideas.

(And Atlas Fallen seems to basically have their same old issues. Over-ambitious scope matched by not enough budget and/or talent to pull it off)

Really I don't know that a studio can "rank up" to AAA anymore (setting aside any talent or lack thereof). All the contenders in that arena are relatively ANCIENT. Like the shift between "AA" and "AAA" is an exponential number of employees, multiple studio locations, etc

Isn't it a sequel that they're just not adding any number/subtitle?

Upon looking it up, it's their version of Elden ring, open world soul game. The first one was just an okay soul clone, nothing great nothing terrible.
Then add a number or subtitle, otherwise people are just going to consider it a reboot. As far as I'm concerned, it's a reboot. If it is a sequel, then it's just a dumb decision on their part to do that.

Hey, at least it's not Mortal Kombat Turbo Championship Edition.
  1. At least the next Street Fighter has a number in the title and takes place after 3, 4, and 5 (with the latter two being prequels that take place before 3).
  2. MK9 has a Komplete Edition with extra DLC guest characters. MKX has MKXL. The expansion once again contained a majority of the DLC characters or season passes. MK11 has the Aftermath Expansion. Which surprise, surprise, has a majority of the DLC and season passes already installed. NetherRealm has no room to talk. Even before all that, there was Ultimate MK3, MK Trilogy, and MKR Gold
  3. So many fighting games are guilty of this. Even SNK to a certain extent. It's just that Capcom is the easiest target.

That's cuz it published by them blokes whot do them sports games with gamblin and bullshit, mate. So, you know, expect some of that bollocks, yeah?
Yeah, I guess its because the very megacorp thing where they have like 23 subcompany layers, but TakeTwo is the hottest garbage of all the AAA hot garbage peddlers as far as microtransactions predatory DLC etc goes but seem to keep their name out of the news somehow.

You've got your micotransaction dumpster fires like the 2K stuff, GTA, Evolve (remember that one?) lol.
all the way down to here's a game but there's like 6 million DLCs for it constantly to keep up (most of Firaxis, Borderlands, etc)

More recenty they picked up Kerbal Space Program too, immediately pushed to a sequel which is hot crashy buggy non-optimized garbage
