Even our staunchest allies are going to think twice before trusting us with anything now, because we might elect some manchild who cares more about impressing people than protecting the country.
Oh hey, look at that:

Turns out yeah, Israeli defense officials worry Trump was selling their secrets to regional enemies. That's something even the Evangelicals will hesitate at. The Rapture can't happen unless 300,000 Jews are in Israel and trumpets and blood water, yadda yadda.

Right, but in that case the mutual self-interest certainly matters; it guides how and why these countries arrange their alliance with the US.
I'm talking about further deals and agreements with existing allies. The alliances themselves are not the issue... Suffice to say that mutual self interest in Security and Defense are not the same for Trade and Diplomacy.

So now we have the actual recordings of Trump confirming he has a classified document, its a classified document, he can't declassify it, he shouldn't still have it, and he shouldn't be showing it to people.
4 days. 4 days after Trump's legal team get discovery of evidence this leaks, when the Feds have had this recording for over 2 years. So Trump, or his lawyers, leaked this and are crowd sourcing a defense. They want this all over Fox, saying its not a big deal and it doesn't prove anything, so that any potential jurors walk in already thinking Trump is innocent. Also it takes away the shock of hearing it for the first time. Now even though its breaking news, its old news. Yeah I heard it, yawn.
Not sure its the right legal move, but I think its the only one Trump has left.

Is this a result of your extensive legal education and experience or are you just huffing your own farts as per normal?
He probably didn't even watch the video given Devin (whom I'm presuming tstorm is calling the "idiot") basically only does a 20 second intro before handing it off to, what? Another, ACTUAL legal expert? Yeah, that's pretty idiotic.

Not just another legal expert, a damned JAG officer who specializes in classification laws.

But no! It was just a random bunch of papers, he was merely claiming to the audience on that tape that it was a classified document.

Dismissing the jest, a former president dangling anything supposedly inconsequential as something knowingly classified is damning unto itself. I'd question his intent, but questioning anything Trump does is like asking chaos what the plan is.

The boring one
Investigation of a citizen above suspicion is not JUST an absolutely gorgeous Morricone soundtrack.

It's also a delightful social-political italian movie about a high-ranking official commiting a crime and breadcrumbing more and more obvious proofs of it just to check how far he can go before his status ceases to blind the investigators.

Yes, half a century ago, Elio Petri made a film about today's Republicans.

It's a result of me not being an idiot like him, from specifically his analysis of Trump's Ukraine phone call, where LegalEagle decided that vaguely implied circumstantial evidence was a smoking gun and Trump was going down. One does not need a legal background to see that and figure out "oh, he's not actually good at law, he's doing YouTube entertainment and playing to an audience."

So I suppose I can retract my statement. He's not necessarily an idiot. He just says stupid things, which may be on purpose, cause being wrong in the right kind of way gets more clicks.

In any attempt to defend Donald Trump, his antics, or his crimes, this is the exact sentiment one should avoid given this basically defines everything that he is and does in the eyes of any person whose lips aren't lovingly sewn to Trump's buttocks.

The Legal Eagle team’s latest review of the matter.
I mean, to be fair, the answer is 0 day. I'll never believe that under any sort of reality Trump will ever go behind bars. Something will always happen to delay or cancel any sort of legal trouble he gets. He could pay and fuck an under age hooker and give her an abortion on live TV while admitting he's doing exactly this and he'll walk away scots free somehow.

As much as turnabout is fair play, it is always possible for both sides of an argument to be wrong.

So this is you admitting Trump might actually be in the wrong here despite how anyone might express it? Say it.
Admitting implies reluctance, so I'll dispute that part.

Trump might be in the wrong here.

Legal Eagle click-baiting people with pretend legal rationalizations for how bad Trump's gonna have it is still stupid.
