And yet when attempts are made to move away from that the cries of 'making women ugly on purpose' echo across the internet.
It's also telling that what they consider "ugly" is just anything they don't like. Like as someone who finds muscular women attractive the outrage about Abby I know what I like isn't what everyone likes but the freak out was genuinely baffling.

These are the same assholes who want every woman to look like some hot supermodel or waifu. They don't either get out much, spend too much time on Internet, and never talked to a woman for more than 30 minutes for most of their lives. The butt-fucks won't cry when the muscular women are Chun-Li, Elena, Cammy, or Juri, etc., but will get vocal and biatch when it's not up to their pathetic standards.

As for Abby, I don't like her, but appearance is the least of her problems. I despise nearly everyone in TLOUS II in general. As far as I am concerned, there is only one game, and the sequel is a dark, edge lord, fan fic that should have never been made at all.

Perhaps not. The wrongdoing was against one of their own, someone they care about.

Is this likely to be the Chinese version of Putin threatening to go nuclear? Big talk but nothing comes of it?
No, it's more like they want to invade Taiwan like Putin invaded Ukraine.

Buy your electronics while you can.

It's more than that, it's paranoid delusion. If a woman in a game isn't traditionally attractive it's a purposeful attack on them. 'Them' being men who like traditionally attractive women, which I guess they're afraid to run out of or something. You hear the phrase from reactionaries all the time; made ugly on pupose. So much narcissism hides in those four little words. If a woman is beautiful, then that's normal, and I feel safe and comfy. But oh, if a woman is ugly, then there must be a purpose to it, a sinister purpose, like the eradication of all beauty.

To bring even more TLoU into this... With Episode 3 of the HBO show, the super duper gay one that had the usual crowd in an uproar, you had shit-for-brains reactionaries use the quote from the director, in which he stated he wanted to trick audiences into watching a gay love story, as a gotcha. As if directors never tricked the audience before (as if female characters aren't designed with a purpose). Ah, but now that it's gay (or ugly), now the purpose is unsavory, now it's an attack on them for baring witness to gayness and ugliness. Because after all, who wants to see something that's gay or "ugly"? Not normal God-fearing people, I can tell you that.

I know that's the purveying criticism, but even without the revenge angle Druckmann's shallow cynical view on humanity would've still taken centre stage. It's the somewhat smug 'everyone goes bad cuz humans are just evil' attitude to this game more so than 'revenge bad'. We could've gotten a game about revenge and NOT have the characters be these obnoxious shitheads. More importantly, not have Ellie turned into a "tragic" psycho killer cuz Joel also did bad things so fate or whatever.

No More Heroes franchise and Tsushima did it better. Even Afro Samurai did it better.

Like I said last year: all this game did is validate people like Johan, Joker, Junko, or Shishio and their warped views. They would love to be in the world of TLOUS II. Fuck this game.

"FUCKIN' PRONOUNS! FUCKIN' GENDER AMBIGUITY! FUCKIN' CURRENT DAY CALIFORNIAN SHIT!

I think that counts as a very funny event in anti woke world due to how pathetic it is.
yes, but not the reasons you think.

More funny to see how people are just having to rush out of the woodwork to try and take their shots regarding this while all claiming it's not important.

It's funny to see Nexus mods banning mods to remove this aspect but perfectly fine with mods for games that let you date children......... no I'm not joking

Well, definitely the Joaquin Phoenix Joker. God, I'm so sick of the 'holding up a mirror to show the ugliness of humanity' Joker. My kingdom for Cesar Romero, or just Jack Nicholson even.

I was more so referring to Hamill Joker and Ledger Joker, but you can add him too, if you wish.

Even the Nicholson version didn't have the best view of people. The only difference is that we was a straight up gangster pre-transformation, and was way less obvious about it.

What's funny about being finding it funny? Its a grown man either having a complete meltdown over something silly, or a grown man overplaying the grift waay too much. In either case its not at all strange that people will find it both hilarious and pathetic.

I'm not sure Tsushima had revenge as much of a theme. While obviously despising the Mongols Jin seems more driven by duty and love of his people then for any personal revenge.

Duty vs Honor seems more the theme. Or tradition vs innovation.

Might be refering to Lady Masako. And I will say it was far more engaging as a revenge tale than Ellie's. Sure, it was a simple 'old woman lost her entire family, now she's ready to tear shit up', but that's kinda what makes revenge tales effective. No need to draw attention to the fact that it's bad, we already know that, we're not eight years old. Also, maybe Ryuji. I couldn't wait to slice that rat bastard in two.

With that I will say that TLoU2 is a better game and story experience than Ghost of Tsushima. Something can royally boil my piss but still be overall beter than something that doesn't.

I wasn't referring to Jin. I was referring to the side quests that involve Lady Masako and the monk, Noriko, respectively. I take it you either forgot about them or didn't play those side quests. I completed all of their side quests on both ends. Jin's teacher I did all the side quests as well.

For me it was the other way around. Tsushima is a far better game with story and characters than The Last Of Us Part 2 could ever hope to be. TLOUS II: it's nothing more than a 14-hour snuff film and torture porn put in video game form. Tsushima is a samurai epic with heart, love, tears, any actual passion put into it, with genuine humanity. I'll take 30 plus hours of Tsushima over 14 hours of wannabe "deep and dark" misery. I care about what happens to Jin and nearly everyone else. I don't care what happens with Ellie, Abby, and the other pious and self-righteous factions involved.
