Finished Control. It was alright, I enjoyed my time with it. There was a bit too much combat and I don't know why the game had randomly generated missions, like anyone is going to want to grind for crafting materials for the completely uninteresting weapon mod system. Combat was basically shoot twice with pierce, then chuck rocks until I run out of energy, repeat. I never put any points in HP, because I'd heard it was a useless stat, and that pretty much held true. The documents were fine, but I really didn't care for the SCP redacting. Kind of kills my interest when you are blacking out key points. Also, altered objects were kind of underwhelming mostly. Most of them just sit there on their pedestal, and the ones you need to calm you just do some simple movement puzzle or kill some enemies and then wave your hands over it for a couple seconds.
Kind of wish Jesse hadn't been *the chosen one* capable of magicing all the problems away, and the game had been a puzzle game or something. Also would have been neat if the organization was still somewhat functional and you did some investigating in the field or something. Still, what we got was fine. It had some decent moments.
Edit: also all the optional outfits were ugly without exception. I spent the whole game wanting that suit Jesse is wearing in the director photo, but when she finally wears it in the game she ties her bangs back! You just can't win.
