I don't really like BombRush Cyber Funk much.
It's a good game, but you'll notice the repetitive gimmick each time you start a new zone or face a new ganng. I actually had to stop playing for a while to give myself a breather. I have trouble getting back into the game because I have not finished it.

Really tired of all these dipshits online saying "Modern Gaming is bad" while going back and playing the latest AAA slopfest with no respect to its devs or players. All while ignoring quailty made games made by smaller studios that are half or a quarter of the price from the latest $70 open-world crafting 3rd person "walk in empty space for 4 hours" garbage.

Seriously, these guys are ruining gaming by calling so many things shit-ass garbage instead of using their platform/social power to highlight actually high quality art and entertainment.

Or even ignoring other big budget games that just don't fit the narrative.

Like seriously man, some of these dudes are in the 6-7 digits of subscribers, and they can't talk about a game from this year they liked? Everything is hot shit garbage? That doesn't sound right.

They are bullshit culture warriors. Its like when someone says music used to be better. It only seems better because all the shlock was filtered out so people only remember the better or at least more remembered songs. And even they are still only paying attention to the big releases. They are full of shit.

Ignore the fuckheads. They live only for the controversy and grifting the dumb, foolish, selectively oblivious, and ignorant. Actions speak louder than words and most the games from the indie/AA crowd and a few of the good AAA games are kicking ass. They never acknowledge them when it doesn't fit their warped morality or narrative. Another reason is because the people on the indie will kick the grifters' asses verbally and can back that up. Some grifters tried, but they only ended up making themselves look all the more foolish, or managed to piss off the fans of "woke games/characters" and it backfired on the grifters even harder.

There are times when it is important to call out the grifters bullshit; especially when they're being really big with false statements and half-truths, but eventually most sensible people see them for the pathetic shit they are. Or they have nothing of value going on. They're jokes on to themselves.

It's probably worse than a grift, it's just people I see rage baiting and getting money out of calling everything shit and tying everything back to fuck ass culture war and social issues bullshit. The fuck!? Why are you bringing this shit up when you're reviewing what is considered a medium of "art?" You're reviewing a fucking RPG game, not a god damn political documentary on a General Chief's War crimes, gender neutrality bullshit or what dumbass opinions one ************ from the entire dev team said on Twitter 13 years ago.

Unfortunately, this is something that has been going on since Ghostbusters (2016). There were some people with legit grievances, but unfortunately, those on the ultra right/conservative side wormed their way into nerdom around after GG and such and such. The same assholes who insulted anyone doing the right thing or show minorities/LGBTQ as people and not bad stereotypes referred to them as "SJWs". Like some type of insult. The cycle was already there, it just took new forms when most of these assholes realized they can't act like how they were as teenagers/20s somethings back in the 80, 90s, and 2000s and they biatch behavior is no longer relevant and pass their prime. They're just too pathetic to admit it outloud or want to take everything with them to feel "validated".

While plenty fuck heads do get paid, at some point diminishing returns sets in, and even their own audience will get sick of them or the audience only used them to feel better about themselves and don't even consider them a "friend nor ally". Especially when said grifter gets caught doing something really illegal or tries to get into inappropriate behavior with a girl (or guy) half their age.

Welcome to our current political reality, everything is political since someone thinks they can gain points by bitching. Mostly comes from the right, its why you constantly have threads about things being "woke." Spoiler, of course its fucken woke, its a video game, they are all WOKE!

The Dynamite Cop/Deka Trilogy (including Die Hard Arcade) are the best Jackie Chan games ever made, without actually having Jackie Chan. While aesthetically the games are modeled after Die Hard, and later Under Siege and Speed 2, the games carry the spirit of Chan's comedic nature and using everyday mundane items or environment as weapons. The official Jackie Chan games that have come out, while between ok and decent in their own right, either feel limited in their scope, or don't do enough to stand out from their competition, other than name brand. The third game, Asian Dynamite/Dynamite Cop EX, models itself after Hong Kong Action Cinema completely, so it resembles a Jackie Chan film the most.

I'll give credit to Stunt Master (PS1) for legit trying and even the developers working with the man himself, but even that game comes up short and has not aged the best. The game works enough, but it has unfair difficulty spikes the further you get, and relies too much on bottomless pits that kill you.

Never really understood the hate of companies reusing assets from previous titles. Do people think 3d models and sprite sheets grow off trees?

"They want their monies worth" is the usual excuse. Asset reuse I usually don't mind, but there have been problems with companies that have used them in the laziest and worst way possible. I'm a big ass Capcom fan, and even they've fucked up more than once with this. Capcom Fighting Evolution....

I doubt this is a hot take, but items in video games that only exist to be sold are fucken dumb. I just spent two weeks being hard up for cash in Monster Hunter Rise, only to learn I was sitting on more than a million bucks worth of items. That is literally more money than I earned normally in 40 hours in this game. In a game where looting a shit ton of items with a single button is the norm, hiding this shit away in your item box instead of just giving you money straight up seems incredibly stupid to me.

Huh. I thought, or at least I remember in Generations Ultimate, that the items that have no purpose except being sold would automatically get sold at the end of a mission. I don't think that Rise would remove that, given that it and World were focused on increasing accessibility; not that I'm saying you're wrong.

That is a setting you can turn on in Rise (and I think World), but you have to set it up manually iirc. I didn't bother with it since I didn't need to in World.
