Sounds like that kid needed a few more slaps to knock the stupid out of him. Sad times either way.

Fuck this world. This makes me so sick it ruined my day completely. How can someone be that stupid? I hope he gets a trial like an adult. No mercy for this idiot.

I wonder though, why did his mother confiscate his PlayStation? When you put it like this any idiot will believe that games make you violent. We don't know nothing about that kid's life before this horrible act. He was probably a problematic kid before he did this.

Damn I almost felt physically sick after reading that, lost for words .-.

Will be interesting to see how the media reacts to this. Of course it's the kid that had serious problems and nothing to do with the games he was playing, but Fox doesn't want people knowing that >.>

Well, that sucks.
We should probably keep him away from Bulletstorm, though. We don't want him turning into a murderer and a rapist.
This story got me down, but this comment picked me right back up. Bravo, sir.

Hilarious that after he's killed his mother he would then say: "I really miss my mom". I reckon he did that to 'express remorse' so he could get a lighter sentence. Through the three different attempts to kill his mother, not one thought of how psychotic it was, and of course the deliberating over killing his mother or not, or trying to hide the body. Suure you miss her.

It is far more likely that he finally went and confessed because he realised there was no possible way he could get away with the murder of his own mother (people are going to ask questions, relatives, and eventually the police will find something one way or another.

There is no excuse for what he did

This is just.... horrible. i cannot believe anyone would even think of this. Society has given me no hope for the future with things like this happening. Where is the world coming to?

Epic. Effing. Win.

In all seriousness, this is a real tragedy. Not only the end of it, which is what will get the attention in the press, but the tragedy that led up to the end. No one kills his MOTHER over ANYTHING unless things are seriously messed up.

for some reason whenever I read about some instance of real life violence or death involving video games it's always with a preteen freaking out over his console. anyone else notice that? In Canada there was a kid who's mom grounded him from CoD and he ran away, found dead later.

People can fake being sorry. It's much harder to fake being dead.
I apologize for laughing at that.

OT: This is pretty sickening, but it seems obvious that this kid wasn't completely in touch with reality.
Never apologise for having a sense of humor, even a twisted one.

I'm just getting tired of hearing about these stories over and over again, "Mom/Dad takes Playstation/Xbox/Nintendo, Kid Kills Mom/Dad." seriously, what the fuck is up with people these days? Blaming it on video games is silly. There's no evidence to support it, and video games are no different than movies in terms of violence. But lately there have been a shitload of these cases of violence OVER games, and I just have to ask what the hell is wrong with people and where are we going wrong?

I tend to believe that it's because we stopped beating our kids. This kid should never have even THOUGHT about hitting his mother with a hammer. He should have been thinking about how if she caught him how HE was going to die at her bare hands. What happened to the times when kids feared their parents? I remember being afraid of mine when I fucked up. I got whipped with a belt on more than one occasion, but I learned my lesson. I think it's time to start beating these kids into another incarnation, and then all these parents they killed can be waiting for them in hell to kill them again when they get there.
nothing wrong with a good sense of humour but I 100% agree with you, parents just dont have as much control as they used to. I remember seeing other people swearing, threatening and even hitting their parents and wondering how they weren't just beaten down.
I've always had the utmost respect for my parents and its gone away in people nowadays but the problem is that the parents dont get blamed, even if the child has a mental illness that wont get blamed, people will always use something they dont like as a scapegoat whether it be games, the internet or whatever comes next.

I'm just wondering how long it will take until people will stop blaming random things for stuff like this.

The thing that sucks about video games is that they're an easy target. When other crazy murders happen (take Jeffery Dalmer for example) it's hard to pin down what caused it. Jeffery could of been pissed one morning that the local 7 11 was out of Sprite. The fact is, it has no relevance. Making these irrelevant connections draw no conclusions about why these horrible events actual happen.

The kid didn't kill his mom 'cause he was raging about his damn video games, the kid was mentally ill and had serious problems rooted far deeper than what we will ever know.
THIS ALL THE WAY (btw running out of sprite is the best comparison ive seen yet)

fuck the playstation, man, the kid was a walking timebomb

[sub]shall I say, a bob-omb? OH THE WITTYNESS[/sub]

my point still stands, the kid was a fucking psycho, taking away the playstation was not what angered him and made him kill his mother, it was just the, uh, "give me a reason" thing

like a trigger or something like that =P
I agree with this post. It wasn't because it was a Playstation, it was because this kid has severe (and I mean severe) mental issues, and it was only a matter of time before he did something like this anyway.

Really though, it's a depressing story. :(

Damn this just ruined my mood. Partly because he just murdered him mum, and games are going to get more hate.
