What's a Steam?

I kid, I kid. I like it. I bought a lot of adventure games on it. Haven't played most of them. Got the Telltale bundle last Christmas sale. You know...Steam sales make you buy games you never end up playing. Mostly use it for Puzzle Quest, Torchlight, and Morrowind. And 2 playthroughs of The Longest Journey.

*goes back to Morrowind*

It's fucking annoying to mod Morrowind on Steam, though. Have to change file dates and shit. Too lazy. Vanilla Morrowind will have to do.
Vanilla anything will never do for me... Since you've already bought the game, it's legal to pirate the retail copy. Then you can Tamriel Rebuilt the living shit out of it! 8D

Ontopic, yeah, I use Steam for most of my games. It bugs up occasionally, and there haven't been any new skins since the UI update about half a year ago, but it works reasonably well for me.

I'd use Raptr if TF2 could run without Steam and all my friends had it too, but that's not gonna happen. Raptr's too good for Steam.

Yeah, because destroying all other companys is a good thing >.>
you sir and trying to be clever but end up sounding like a cracker. EXPRESSION OF SPEECH

As a cracker, I second his cleverness. Also at least he can spell. And his hair looks nice.

On topic: good job Steam. Keep being awesome.

EDIT: Turns out he can't spell either :( Sometimes it's hard being a Grammar Nazi. Oh well. By the way, your hair is mighty stylish as well.
do you understand my point? possibly. do you add to the dicussion? no, you stated what twenty other people have stated. are you a nob? most definitely

why pick on me?
Wow dude, troll much? I'm on your side, by the way. Or at least I was. Add to the discussion? Well, fine then. If Steam were to take Microsoft out of the game, in the end that would be just as bad as if Microsoft did the same to Steam. Monopoly is bad for a free market economy and right now those two are the leaders in their field. I'm assuming here that you weren't being sarcastic in your original post, but if you were then I obviously misread you. Steam's success will inevitably lead to Microsoft stepping up their PC marketing and development, it's just too big of a market for them to let it go unchallenged, especially since they already have a toe in the door so to speak.

Contrary to popular belief...it's not legal.

Wait, modding games you've bought is illegal? Really?

no no no. Pirating a retail copy of a game you already own. THAT is illegal.

I never heard of steam before I got left 4 and honestly it's not all that. It's just a battlenet large find a game room service like gamespy.

But eh...
Accept it works, unlike games spy, which imo is a horrible piece of shit and the biggest problem with borderlands.

Almost everyone I know has multiple steam accounts for some reason or another. This number does not impress.
i'm on steam every day and i've never seen a reason to create a second account, why would you want more than one?

Totally agree - just posted the following on the Fallout forum in fact...

This isn't to slight PS3 owners but I'm more disappointed that when Microsoft obtain privileges for DLC that the PC platform isn't included in the same deal.

Without the PC there would be no Microsoft really - PC is where the made their money and from which they eventually financed production of the Xbox.

Shameful given that Microsoft recently said the PC was still really important to them and that they intend to keep supporting it - http://www.escapistm...C-Gaming-Again.

This isn't about this DLC planned for FO:NV specifically for me nor is it a snub to PS3 users - just expressing my feelings about how Microsoft's actions seem to be at odds with what they say when it comes to the PC and the fact that they owe the PC big time imo.

To cover all of that bandwidth, the Valve servers can now stream up to 400 gigabytes of data per second.
Just think how much patch data could be distributed per second if they used their 400 GB upstream to seed torrents.

I garuntee you though that after 2 or 3 DLC releases they will make a disk with them on it for PC. Bethesda isn't that stupid.

It?s a form of DRM..... "That sucks."
It?s a form of DRM that also offers loads of useful tools for moldable games, content delivery and game related social networking. It makes multiplayer with people you enjoy a simple thing..... "w00t."
Turns out I don't mind the DRM

OT/ I love that steam is growing at such an outstanding rate; it really is encouraging for the PC community.
