I know. But, I've contacted Steam and they still haven't said anything.Hiphophippo said:The problem is the servers. Anyone with half a brain knows that Macs run games just fine.
I say it's cause Steam on Mac is still a beta. It's not fully perfected yet and there are going to be some problems.HK_01 said:Must. resist. arguing...Klonoakid17 said:Just so you know. I won't buy a PC because of three things. 1.Mac runs better. I've proven it with my cousin. 2.Windows is cheap and re-uses things. 3.Windows 7 is a prettier version of vista. Once again proven with my cousin. He knows how to look into the operating system they were the same.tghm1801 said:Simple solution:

OT: Waiting's probably the only way to go. Lots of people are downloading TF2 and its updates right now because all the Mac users out there can now get it and the price was reduced, so people like me grasped the opportunity to get this great game. Probably within a couple of days the problem will solve itself.
I personally have no problem playing, but I may just be lucky. The first time I tried to start the game it told me that it was "unavailable", but when I tried again a few minutes later it worked without a problem.
Edit: I'm playing on a PC, so it might be a Mac specific problem. If it is that and not a problem with the servers, Valve will surely fix it soon.
It's been out of beta since it was released.Klonoakid17 said:I say it's cause Steam on Mac is still a beta. It's not fully perfected yet and there are going to be some problems.
There it is. For all the Mac user hate around here, the assholes like you are what I see more often.tghm1801 said:Simple solution:

Did that to me for Half Life on Mac - I restarted the PC mid download, and it just sat at 70%. I picked "delete local content" on the menu after trying "resume updating" over and over. It didn't actually delete the local content (although this wouldn't be a problem if its at 0% anyway), and when I tried to redownload it worked fine.ShadowDude112 said:He did that, and he said that when he started it up it said download starting forever. He paused it when it was at 0% when he did so I don't know what's happening. I'll tell him to start an account so maybe he can explain it to us.D Y N A S T Y said:Has he tried pausing it and starting it up again? You do realize valve developed steam for mac.JimmyBassatti said:I'd cry from laughter if he sent an email about the problem to Valve, and they told him the same thing.SwitchUK said:Best Response Ever...Wombaat said:I recommend buying a PC. Because broadening their user base is a bad idea. Right.Chaos Marine said:Having played a game of TF2 yesterday and encountering Mac users and being taunted for the fact that I'm not using a Mac, yeah, I reiterate my belief that Valve are making a vast mistake in wasting their time, resources and manpower in developing for the Mac crowd.
