Digimon World. I loved these games when I was a youngun but alas no one seems to have heard of em.
You are truly a man after my own heart, this was one unappreciated game.

Jet Force Gemini. I loved that game so much, and it never got any attention because Rare was more famous for Donkey Kong and other such things.
A hidden gem for sure. That game totally deserves to be a classic :)

Mine would be the old Impression city building games, Ceasar III and Master of Olympus - Zeus in particular. Man I'd like to see some new games in that vein. As a side note, I think Zeus is one of the only games I've played where greek mythology was treated as something more than an excuse for massacring people in togas.

Jade Cocoon on the PS1. I played that game until I wore off the disk. I never did get around to beating it. It was pretty fun. It was like Pokemon except you could merge your monsters or turn them into silk if you got tired of them.

Micro Maniacs - PS1.
So many hours spent with this game and the ol' PS1 multi-tap.

Mystical Ninja 2 Staring Geomon, my brother and I found this to rent at Hollywood Video way back when for the N64. Whenever I bring it up most don't know what it is so I guess this game would be mine. For those who don't know it was a fun side scrolling beat em up with giant robot fights taking the form of boss battles.

Shadowrun, on the Sega Genesis.

Frankly, I still don't know why an isometric, top-down version of Shadowrun was so amazingly addictive...but it still is! I could play it for hours and even after 40+ hours I wasn't halfway through.

Terracon on the PS1.

You were this alien whose planet had been destroyed (in a cutscene that showed multiple aliens who had their bottom halves blown off... WHEN I WAS FOUR) and you had to use the missile defense systems on the planets of the solar system to blow up the terracon, the sentient machine who did it.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present you..

google for gameplay specifics.
First played on Windows 95 or 98... Can't remember.

No one I know seems to have played it, despite all the acclaim it's gotten.

For longest time, I thought the name of this game was Road Runner. It frustrated me quite a bit when I couldn't find the game these past few weeks. It really is a horrible name :/

YU-GI-OH Forbidden Memories for the PS1. That game is so awesome. I could spend all day just battle the computer and never really care about anything else. I really wish I could emulate it onto my Laptop.

Tobal, for PS1.

I have not met anyone on or offline who knows about this game. The character models were designed by the guy who went on to do Dragonball Z...

In order of age, from greatest to least:

Cutthroats: Terror on the High Seas. Massive bugs everywhere, but still one of the best Pirate sims I've played.

Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim. Fantastic game, really difficult, if not impossible, to win skirmishes at higher difficulties.

Evil Genius. You control an island full of evil henchman and dim-witted minions, not to mention an Evil Genius bent on world domination. What more could one ask for?

The first and third were fantastic, I still play them. Never owned the second and fourth, but gameplay footage from the second turned me off and I've never owned a PS2.

Alundra, it was fucking magnificent, dark and emotional storyline (seriously) fun as heck and hard and challenging puzzles (sometimes too hard) and tough bosses (some are pushovers though)
I remember hearing humorous stories from UGPM back in the day that the game's puzzles were SO difficult the editors actually took the disc and ran it over with a vehicle.
WHA?! hey ran over a godly game like that because it was too hard?! The game is insanely difficult at times, yes but to run over it with a vehicle...blasphemy!
I loved that game. I don't remember the puzzles being that tough though maybe I have blanked it out :p

Mine was a game called Ghost Hunter on the Master System where you would escort this little girl in a red dress through a haunted house, it was tough but good fun.
