Black Ops... I don't get it; are they teaming up with 50 Cent or something?

Cant wait, don't care who makes it. As long as I get 50+ hours of gaming out of it I'll be very happy

They already did that: http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_Modern_Warfare_2#Voice_actors

I'd like to know more about it before I pass judgment. And WaW wasn't so bad, as long as you just looked at the Russian part of the game. Fighting Japs =/= fun.

I can tell that this game is going to be panned. Doesn't matter if it's good or not, people are going to hate it for not being made by IW.
I disagree. I doubt many of the casual shooter fans who are into Call of Duty actually pay attention to who made it.

I really liked Call of Duty 3, absolutely loved World at War, and I cannot wait for Black Ops. That's a very interesting title. I'm assuming that there will be a few undercover CIA missions or something. Anyway, I'm a loyal fan of the series and I think that Treyarch is a studio worthy of making games for such a storied franchise. Can't wait to get my hands on this game!

One more thing though...why November 9th? CoD games have always been released in the States on Veteran's Day. I guess that there may be some truly controversial shit in this game, perhaps a CIA mission or two, that would have caused some major controversy if this game were to be released on Veteran's Day.

I am pretty excited. I have had much better times with WaW than either of the modern warfares.

And I hated the online play more in WaW, it is the split screen co op/ zombies that is so fun.

If it is Vietnam based game this could be interesting. Being part of SOG or another black ops group in the Vietnam war would be a different take on the war since every Vietnam game I've ever heard of has you as a regular soldier. Hell it would be pretty cool if they explored the Cold War through Black Ops units (fighting in the Bay of Pigs or in one of the other CIA operations during the period). I really do hope this turns out good; I did like World at War's single player better than MW2 (though not as much as COD4) and I hope they make a kick ass story for this one.

There's probably no better for Treyarch to become the hero... making a kick-ass CoD game after all these shenanigans would be it. I hope they succeed.
You're setting yourself up for a big disappointment then. Treyarch has never even come close to being up to snuff with Infinity Ward.

The fact that "multiplayer" came first in that sentence doesn't bode well to me.

If you're going to make a good singleplayer experience, concentrate on that before you attend to the hordes of people who just want to shoot each other.

Games that emaciate their singleplayer campaigns in favour of the multiplayer just piss me off.

WaW is on par with COD 4 and both are better than MW2.
WaW is the most balanced game since 2, and it had vehicles. (for better or worse) ..ZOBMIE MODE!

I like the feel of Treyarchs games too. They feel a lot less arcadey.

You would call Modern Warfare 2 a good game? That "thing" is a hot mess, and a awful way to go out before the studios inevitable destruction.

I really hope they steer clear of the MW2 way. MW2 is the most newb friendly game I've ever played.

This entire series needs a revamp. Get rid of perks completely. Nerf grenade damage area. Most importantly, give the guns realistic recoil and clip size!

I think CoD(1) is the best CoD to date.

If the game turns out well and it is what I think it is (Stealthy MW2)then I will almost certainly buy it.
