The difference here is that those people actually have to show up to whatever they hate, and rally enough people for somebody to care. anon however just doodles something from their parents house, while claiming to be online equivalent of Cathulu in power. I gave way more props to the sign holders.
So because people can't pile into a plane, fly to Syria and take to the streets, they should do nothing?
But this isn't exactly doing anything either. What they have done is as effective as shaking your fist angrily, and as important. Showing sympathy? everyone and their nan have done that. Making people aware? Well, unless you've been playing hermit, are Amish or are a dedicated Luddite, chances are you've seen the news this past, what now, 6 months? year?(I tend to lose track of time) and are aware that "something" is going on over there(and seemingly everywhere else throughout the Arab nations).

THIS is just a showoffy of doing what could have been done with a bloody Facebook page. If it's motivated by sincere feelings of sincerity, then fine. But hacking to do it and then bragging? Just make's me think of Bono.

One day they will realize hacking websites doesn't actually accomplish anything. Do they expect them to just say say "oh gee, are website was hacked! call off teh war effort and turn around and go home!" I bet they don't even care.

wow, you're right they haven't accomplished anything, you are such an inspiration, why don't you tell us how you helped?

Syria hasn't had nearly as much media coverage as Libia, while the bloodshed is at least as bad, so if the support of Anon means the rest of the world will apply more pressure to the Syrian government it shouldnt be a bad thing.

I dont see how this helps anyone, but at least they are not stealing credit card information from random people this time.

If they truly cared about the people of Syria they wouldn't have put up their logo on the website. This only shows they just want more attention.

Sometimes you gotta act like snake.... and sneak yoru way to victory.
Wars aren't won by Solid Snake.

But in response to all of your posts, propaganda is a POWERFUL tool. There are entire black ops units devoted to spreading propaganda and fueling whatever mindset that we need at the time. Don't be talking about what you don't know.
