It's a shame, because i actually used to really like watching the wright stuff.

Most of the subjects discussed on there were pretty interested, and it had some good debates.

however if you bash my favourite hobby, i say bad! Matthew Wright bad!

I shall not be watching it again.

Actually, Wright himself seemed to be the only one on the panel actually sticking up and arguing for gaming, or at least bringing up counter points. The other three were the ones assuming their gut feelings had more validity than reports that apparently weren't correct anyway.

Yeah, i guess i shouldn't of assumed that Matthew Wright was the one who was biased against video games as he has sticked up for gaming in past debates on the show.

Saying that, who cares for the other's opinions, the Wright stuff is Matthew Wright's show anyway.

The biggest flaw in this argument is that they are showing footage from an 18+ game. A child shouldn't be playing that anyway. Any parent that lets their kid play it should be taking responsibility for it anyway, even though they won't. They'll just not give a damn and then act surprised and point fingers IF anything happens. Which if it was going to happen, it would have anyway, regardless of what video games they played.

So much this. The question shouldn't be "Do violent games need to be banned?", but "Why are children even playing these games when they aren't 18 yet?".

oh geez, thank god they got that complaint. if there's gang violence, i doubt the gang members even have money to buy a 50$ game, let alone a 200$ console (or they could steal it) and on top of that, no russian was plot essential, it's tom clancy type stuff; kill hundreds of people and leave an american body to be responsible for the heinous crime, thus starting WW3, it makes perfect sense! i don't see why people were confused about it! ..... oooooh, you skipped it didn't you? you pussy.

Nah, it's a nothing show. I'm not just dissing it for hurting my beloved gaming either, it is of literally no cultural or political interest. They could say whatever they wanted and no one would hear it.

scapegoating is always easier than admitting that there is a larger problem at hand. like the whole social situation that allowed for said gangs to arise in the first place. and from the looks of it the media is still hanging onto the scapegoat of "violent videos-games caused (insert tragic shotting here) for dear life. but from the looks of things they are running low on excuses for using this specific scapegoat if they had to switch to the common-sense argument and that all official studies into the matter are bias. i wonder what they will scapegoat with next?

Kinda one of the reasons I'm not keen on England (as a place to live for myself), maybe I'm just giving too much credit to their media, but it seems to be one heck of a violent country to live in at the moment.
