Damn, that was a waste of my money...
And I still have so many hours of gameplay left.

Well, after the first few hours of playing I found it to be really boring...

I wonder if we will see some private servers crop up then. The game did pique my interest when I saw it on Steam, but when I found it was a pay-per-month MMO, that interest waned.

Hmmm, Times like this I'd hope they would release the Server code, would be fun setting up a dedicated server and Actually moderating it from cheaters... oh well.

I wanted to try APB, but they din't have a trial for so. And I was not going to drop $50 for a game that I was unsure about.

The end of APB was going to happen soon anyway. They made out the game was going to be majorly better than other mmos and would have a subscription system that was meant to rival the norm. When the game came out it didn't live up to the reputation it had made itself and the subscription system turned out to be just another 'enter credit card details here' form. Truefully, I believe if they put the same amount of work into the gameplay as the level of customisation then the game would have attracted a larger player base.

I'm glad I convinced one of my friends to not buy this, since he already has a copy of GTA4 and the two were so similar in scope that owning both would be pointless.

A friend of mine was hyped for this, and tried getting others to play it xD
I said "It looks like a crappy wannabe GTV4 MMO" and sensed it wouldn't be around for long.

My senses stand correct. Aah, the scent of victory...

Aww. I'd always wanted to check that out, I just never had the spare cash lying around to get into an MMO.

And thats the risk of making an MMO in an already over inflated market...let this be a lesson

This kinda saddens me even though i never played the game nor any other games made by them.
But still, to fall this early after the release is just sad.

You could, if you're internet's quick enough: it's gone free to play until shutdown (which will be some point in the next 24 hours, more likely 12 hours).

And here I thought Hellgate: London collapsed before it's time.
This just doesn't seem fair, the game never got a chance to evolve or grow.
At least Hellgate London got more than a year...

Do wonder if anyone remembers how long that post apocalyptic driving MMO from '08 or so was active.

To be honest... this is not really surprising at all. For a title that was inherently niche, they just massively overspend their potential future income during the development phase.

Comes as no surprise to me... and I'm laughing (under my breath anyways) at all my clan mates who insulted me when I said this game was gonna fail.

Must admit... the 90 days surprised even me!

Its not like this will be the complete end of APB, it just means the official end of its official servers. Private server groups will still be available, and then you can play for free, if you got screwed into buying this (like I did) then thats an option, it seems like anyone with a copy is going to have to go to a private server community now.

Am I the only who thinks it's awesome that his name is Bateman? You know like Batman.

OT: That's a little sad.

I bought it out of some sadistic glee to watch the epic-ness of the fail. But even for that I didn't get my money's worth and wish I hadn't wasted the $50. Even though it has probably set a record for the shortest-lived MMO, there's nothing epic about it.
