We are Apple. Clean up your messages and surrender your rights. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
My friend, you win "The Truth" and "The Internet" prizes.

There will be a crack available for it within an hour of release. Parents, being utterly techno phobic and wanting nothing to do with the responsibility of raising their own children, wont notice that it's been cracked. And so, the children will go on sexting while the parents sit back and breathe as sigh of relief that technology has yet again delivered them from having to act like parents.
You win said prizes as well.

I wonder how many people in this thread shitting a brick are of the age where what their parents think isn't much of an issue anymore?

This isn't some doomsday Big Brother takeover, it's the V chip for texts. A tool for parents to voluntarily dictate how the service they pay for is being used. Don't like it? Get a job and pay for your own phone.
You would be right..... if Apple exerting control unnecesarily was anything new.

Remember apple banning germans from having topless images on german only profiles because steve jobs is the guru/god of how cultures should view nudity? Despite America being near arabic close minded when it comes to the human body?

Teens will never stop thinking about, talking about or having sex and nothing Apple or any other psychotic corporation can or will do will change it. Legions of self-appointed moral guardians have tried all kinds of technology and gimmicks to stem the tide of what they believe to be wrong, but the fact of the matter is people, no matter how numerous or individually powerful, cannot change human nature.

lol I Been part of the resistance since the early days of when apple got popular with iPods xD

had 3 iPods all sucked 1 constantly crashed, one wiped itself every 2 weeks and one would randomly turn off. Went creative and still got the old Zen Touch 20GB and it still works like it was day 1

There's an easy solution to this problem: Don't buy Apple phones.

Two. Parents have the option to have all texts forwarded from their child's phone to theirs, so they can check for inappropriate images.
Oh, this should be interesting...

In a world where a teenager can be prosecuted for child pornography by having naked pictures of THEMSELVES on their phone, I wonder how long until we hear about a parent being arrested for possessing child pornography because the phone automatically forwarded a text which also contained such a picture...

The patent office needs to change what you can put a patent on. Honestly it'd probably be easy to write a code that does the same thing without even looking at Apples and then owe wait you can't see that because the blasted IDEA itself is copyrighted.

Why sit down with your kids and actually talk about problems when you could just passively-aggressively filter their text messages? Brilliant.

The only effect restrictions have is to force people to be creative in order to find good loopholes - which they will.

Finally, I hope parents start looking after there kids again. Rather then just handing the tween the cell phone and computer. Kids under 16 don't need a cell phone, the phone they use should be in the kitchen with a short cord. Like you want your kids to have fun and all but without them being the reason why Chris Hansen's To Catch a Predator exists.

I agree!

But I have to put 5 spanish words in my post before I can post this message..

OT: That's quite pointless, I'd be annoyed if it didn't let me set a simple "I love you"
